Offline | Hi, first post, though I've been lurking for a month or so since taking the plunge an ordering my MCS. I've ordered (for April delivery): MCS in Sparkling Silver / Black roof Chili Pack Vis pack Hi-Fi upgrade Park sensors I'm thinking about adding a Limited Slip Diff too as it seems such good value, however I've still got 49 days to wait as it is and don't really want to wait any longer. Does anyone know if ordering LSD would delay it further? thanks Tony |

Offline | Thanks for the advice. It's a little frustrating because I'm getting it through my company car scheme which means I have to talk to the dealer through them rather than direct - everything is via email anyway they've come back and said it's too late as it's "moved to build" with delivery for 18th April................ this wait is going to kill me Thanks again Tony |

| Open Door..Step Out..Easy | Taking another opportunity to use my new favourite word... Bunkum! ![]() If your new car is due for delivery on April 16th (Week 16) it will be built the week before (Week 15) so the earliest it will go to the stage where the spec cannot be changed is Week 13 (commencing 26 March) which is a month from now. |

Offline | So is someone telling fibbs? This is my frustration not being able to deal direct. i suppose on a positive note, maybe I won't have to wait till the 18th of April and it'll come early despite what they told me. Apparantly the order was accepted by MINI on the 26th January. Given that, which date looks more realistic, the "move to build" or "delivery" date? Thanks Tony ![]() |

| Open Door..Step Out..Easy | Without knowing the specific details of your order it's difficult to know what stage it is at. 'Accepted by MINI' just means an order Number has been allocated, but this can be done months in advance and is based on the dealership's allocation of build slots (they only have a very limited number each month). The fact that they have quoted a delivery in Week 16 means this is the earliest build slot they had available for a MCS (unless your company specifically asked for an April delivery?) as MINI do not build cars and then hold on to them for weeks just for the sake of it. With that in mind, I cannot see any reason why the delivery date is any later than a week after the build date, so there is no reason why the spec cannot be changed for, at least, another 2-4 weeks. |
