Just new to the wonderfull world of minis i am the very proud owner of a brand new r56 cooper s 07 my first real drive of it today and its amazing.

Congrats on your new purchase.

Incidentally what engine was in the A3? I always thought the S-line indicated the trim, alloys or bodykit (like M sport with BMW)

Or was it an S3?

Sprtsline is just a trim kit, it usually adds sports suspension unless its the 3.2 which already has it. I am sure that the MCS is quicker than some A3's but certainly not all of them.
I swapped from a 3.2 to the MCS and the Mini is deceptively quick but not quite that fast.

Got my Cooper S on March 1st. Lazer Blue with chequered black and white sunroof, Aerokit, White bonnet stripes and Check mirror. Blue interior. Can't take pictures because camera being repaired.

Its gone back in today because it keeps stalling!!!! and the sunroof never worked, BUT it is wonderful, The Ipod adaptor is brilliant and it is such fun to drive.

Picking up at 5pm and hopefully will be fine.
