Offline | Does It Get Any Better Than This! Keep The Faith My wife has a late 2005 MCS, which is the best one to date, having owned a 2002 & 2003 pair of MCS before getting this 2005 example. I have just done my first 250 TROUBLE FREE miles in my fabulous 5 day old R56 and have to say both my MCS's are very different cars but share the unique characteristics of being "MINI" Does fun motoring today get any better than this I don't think soHaving tried out all the obvious competitors in the end there was no choice but to go for an early R56 and hope it proved to be better built than my 2 previous early MCS's and so far signs are looking good despite all the doom and gloom to be found on the faults & fixes forum Having experienced early MINI's back in 02/03 and read all the iffy stuff on here regarding the R56's I was braced for a bad start to my 4th MINI adventure and so far so good Keep The Faith Too many freaks not enough circuses Tell a man that there are 400 billion stars and he'll believe you. Tell him a bench has wet paint and he has to touch it. Last edited by daro911 : Mar 6th, 2007 at 06:28 PM. |

Offline | Apart from the dodgy gearbox noise others have reported I am perfectly chuffed with my motor, that's what you get a 3 year warranty for at the end of the day! Have finally reached the magic 1250 mile mark with an average of 37.5 mpgs, I think that is about to drop rapidly somehow, sport button here I come ![]() Anyone thinking about getting an R56 S - don't let the faults/fixes forum put you off, at the end of the day you will see a lot more posts by a minority of unlucky MINI2ers than those that are over the moon with their Mini adventure. It's human nature!! Cheers Jim New Mini Cooper S in BRG is HERE!!! |
