Got the next best thing :(

Hey guys long time MCS fan. Unfortunately my pocket was not deep enough to get the new R56 S so I got the next best thing a 207 GT THP. Same engine no intercooler and different ECU mappings.

I just wanted to ask if it would be possible for me to fit a R56 MCS intercooler to my car and what parts I would need. Also would this need an ECU tuning.

Hoping to buy a MCS in about 2 years but until then I will have to satisfy my self with such trickeries

Its the Peugeot 207 GT THP 150BHP

The Cooper S engine produces 175bhp, and so will the one in the 207 GTi. The GT THP uses a 150bhp derivative, which differs from the 175 in that it uses different ECU mapping and doesn't have an intercooler. But it still makes this the fastest 207 so far.

hears a pic!

I would say that an intercooler would be able to be fitted but with the same parts off an MCS i dnt think so but as i say im not sure! An intercooler doesnt add BHPit just prevents loss of it, and the ECU tunning is another question for a Peugeot dealer/tuner for doing this!

I agree especially when this cars base model is £12495 if im correct, you will be able to get a pretty good MCS for that if you bought the 207 from new!

The intercooler is right at the bottom on the current mcs isnt it. So i assume thats where it will be on the new 207, how do you know there will be enough space. it doesnt look like there is enough area for air to pass.

Slightly off topic, but do you guys know if jcw plan to make a top mounted intercooler to make use of the scoop?

The new 207 doesnt have an Intercooler, do you mean if one was to be fitted thats were it would go if an MCS I/C was to be used?

sorry, i meant if he were able to fit an intercooler i imagine it would go in the same place as on the s, at the bottom. I dont think it would fit on the 207 with the tight bumper.

Have you actually bought the Peugeot? or just considering it?

If you haven't bought it, please reconsider. Peugeot regularly feature somewhere near the bottom of customer satisfaction surveys like JD Power.

I owned a Peugeot 306 GTi-6 once, and it was the least reliable car I ever owned ...........

If you still have the option, please consider a used MINI Cooper S instead.

If you have actually bought it, then I will wish you good luck and hope you have better luck with the marque than I did.
