Offline | Sooooo Excited!!!! Went to the dealership today to choose a number plate, walked through the car park and saw a car that looked just like mine is going to, had a closer look and realised it was specced EXACTLY like mine was, thought that was a bit strange. Anyway, turns out it is mine, we got the keys and I got to sit in it It'll be on my drive on Monday, it had literally rolled off the loader TODAY! so it needs its PDI now. I've included a few quick snaps I took whilst I was there. Also, I was just wondering.... when I go to collect it on Monday, what are the key things to inspect during the handover??? Just a few pointers so I look like I know what I'm doing, instead of the usual awkward walk around, look at a few things push a couple of things, stand back, look from different angles (pretending I know what I'm doing) then just saying "errr yeah OK looks good" lol Spec (for those of you wondering) Mini cooper s Chili Red Clth/Lea Ray Rooster Red Chili Pack Auto Air Con Multifunction Steering Wheel Black Bonnet Stripes Chrome Line Interior Black Roof n mirror caps Darkened rear glass Smoker Pack Colour Line Rooster Red Interior Trim Piano Black Rain Sensor Auto Lights on Hi-Fi Speaker system |

Offline | Looks good Things to inspect are the allignment of the body panels, particularly the bonnet one, so most people say on here. Allignment of the exhaust aswell, look for dings and scratches because it will be hard to prove it was not your fault should it have any after you drive off. My carpet in the passenger footwell is coming loose so i suggest just stamping around and checking it is all in. i have to sort mine out soon. Enjoy!! |

Offline | cheers for the comments mate. It might look good in the pics but no Picture ever does the mini justice, I can look at pic after pic after pic and like the looks of loads of different minis but when I actually get in one its a whole new experience get down your local dealership, make sure you take your drivers licence and you can take one for a test drive. VERY hard not to buy one then!!! lol |

Offline | blueyeswill, I think you got the storage pack because they moved it into the chili pack and also your build date fell after the introduction of the storage pack. |

Offline | yeah, thats what we guessed, but I have my original order here placed on 20/01/07 and the chili pack doesnt have the storage pack and the chili pack is in turn cheaper. As I said before it's a pleasent surprise, Im happy to have the storage pack. I suppose some people would find it an easy thing to have a moan about though. |

Offline | Ah this was the thing mention by MarkL "The storage pack is not just the additional storage compartment in the passenger side dashboard, you also get a storage net in the front passenger footwell, plus a floor net, two separate side dividing nets and a 12V socket in the boot. Also, you get rake adjustment for the rear seat backs." |

Offline | Yeah thats what you get ![]() I did try out the adjustable back seats, its an "extra" it does create some room, but not meaning to be derogatory (I've just bought one remember) but I wouldnt wanna be the poor person trying to sit on them when they've been adjusted. To be fair I dont think I'll ever use this function. If I have something that needs more room in the boot then I will just lower the seats forward. However like I say its a nice "extra", one of those quirky MINI features that everyone loves. I can see some uses for the 12v supply in the boot though and the extra compartment in the dash is handy. You really cant tell it's there and if you keep something in there you dont want to be seen, the average scroat who might break into you car wouldn't know to check there for things to steal. Also, just my opinion but I think everyone should spec the smoker pack. I dont smoke but it's free and it means you get this cool little pot (which is still removable) for you to keep things in. |

Offline | Yep at first I didn't even bother spec'ing the smokers pack, just though it wouldn't need not being a smoker but when I got some more details about it and noticed it was free then it went on the list. Hmm just waiting for the day to see it, I’ve had to push back collection date to the end of month to give more time to sell me coopy. Haven’t had a single phone call :-( but I hope you enjoy your's, is it your first mini? Love the red and black although I've gone for lightning blue with a black roof ;-) |

Offline | Yeah, this is my first modern mini. Used to have a mini mayfair a few years ago. First car I had, loved it and wanted a new car, been driving a punto for last couple of years. Decided to get a mini cooper S. Only difficult thing I've found really is finding insurance, Im only 21. found that Quinn direct were the best for me though!! |

Offline | Car looks great, like mine but faster From the pick from the side, your bonnet fit looks OK - but as suggested, check the car over with a fine toothed-comb. On the sotrage pack, if you didn't spec it - no harm in telling the dealer you are not happy paying for it CHILLI pack has gone up by £100 or so - but if you thought you were paying £x then try and get them to stick to it.Please post more pcs when you get it ![]() Red/Black R56 Cooper |

Offline | I have to take issue with your comment above How can you say most people who own R56 MINIs are having or have had issues? Some people have reported issues but I would think that the vast majority are very happy with their car ![]() Remember, MINI2 only represents a small percentage of MINI owners. Also, some people who have problems look to the internet for advice/support - so if anything the percentage of MINI2ers with problems may be higher than with people not on here.
