Offline | Indicators in the headlights arghhh, i dont like the orange it makes it look cross eyed . How do i get rid of them, is there a way yet?. I presume the bulb is clear but there is a orange plastic 'housing' to it. i dont want to take the whole thing apart or mess up the xenon alignments, or headlight for that matter. If you have to take it apart i think ill end up leaving it .Secondly the sidelights, they are too yellow, where can i get some bluer ones to match the xenons? and are they easy to fit as on the first gen minis. ![]() |

| MINI2 Regular | have some logic. bulbs in general are a disposable item, they need to be replaced quickly and by the owner for a matter of safety. right in your wheel arch you will find a large plastic disc, unscrew that, then there is another one but smaller, unscrew that and extract. you will then be able to reach your hand in and find the indicator, you can unscrew that and the whole bulb holder comes out. either fit Philips Silvervision bulbs to take away that egg yolk orange look and make it all shiny silver or if like me you have a blue car I have fitted Osram Diadem bulbs which have a blue tint so look quite good. the sidelights can also be changed to ones with a blue tint to match the xenons. but I still havent done that yet. |

| MINI2 Regular | LOL ![]() you haven't met a car designer yet then!! So many cars nowadays you actually have to take back to the stealer or get handy with a haynes manual in order to replace bulbs! I used to have a smart and that involved taking the entire front off!! (got very quick at it tho lol) Another example AFAIK is the audi A2. Any replacment of the bulbs is a dealer job. Designers don't care about the ease of changing things and if they come up with a *good* reason why not well that makes more money for the stealers![]() |

Online | Sorry, just realised this is the S forum. The S has clear plastic lenses, the Cooper has orange ones unless you pay extra for clear ones. Check out Mikeythemini is you want the total white look - he sells the bulbs you require. Red/Black R56 Cooper |

| MINI2 Regular | I know what you mean, I had to consult another member on here to find out how to get to them, because I was used to the ease of the R53 and then seeing all the clips around the front of the lights I thought that can't be right there must be an easier way than that. they should really make indicators and brake light bulbs easy for the owner to get to as for safety reasons. Wooly - I havent even looked into that gallery thing on here yet mate, if its nice on the weekend I'll get a pic and pm you, gotta do the sidelights then too. What colour is your mini? |

Offline | The standard MCS indicator bulbs are very orange and almost defeat the point of the clear lenses. I changed all of mine for the Phillips Silvervision from Mikey The Mini and it looks a lot better. I even painted the bulb holders from orange to silver as they reflected in the light units too.http://www.mini2.com/forum/attachmen...1&d=1173553009 |

Offline | I am getting my osram diadem's tommorow but in pearlescent white, blue tint wouldn't work for mine. As for the sidelights, has anyone found a decent one in xenon colour. I remember the old connection was flatt-ish (that is about as far as my knowledge goes), any idea what connection type this one is? |

| MINI2 Regular | same as all sidelights a 12v W5W bulb or wedge as they are also known. I was gonna fit LED ones again but as they come on as courtesy lights and light up the ground quite well in a dark area I'm gonna try a xenon colour tinted bulb, I've got some unbranded ones at home which came with some bulbs I'm gonna try. It's hard to get the holder out though, but will report back. I didn't know you could get diadems in different tints, where you get them from? |

Offline | I actually got up and had a proper look today, easy to fix. Im worried the ice blue ones i chose to fit look a bit chavvy. will have to look at it in the dark to get a proper view but i think im almost definately going to put the extreme whites on. |
