First 1000mile report

Well i got the car 3 weeks ago & on first impressions it was great. The car has had a few problems . The arm rest broke , the much milined HiFi really cant take base ,oh & one morning it sounded like a diesel.
Apart from that i love it . The car drives like a dream, the turbo is so sweet, no lag .The fuel consumption is really quite good 1000mile @ an average of 34.8 mpg. Not that bad for a turbo charged car , my average speed has been 28mph as the car i used for my job.
I was really dreading getting the car as there were loads of people having big probs with there cars. But mine has been fine . On the motorway the power is just awesome, no need to drop agear the power is just there. The sport button ,well its a wee gimick , but i need to use it a lot more , to really have a better opinion on it.

Now the best part of new MCS is that there is very few around the car really turns heads. Ive had some great comments in petrol stations. All in all iam glad i traded in my 06 cooper for the r56 . I cant wait to unleash the turbo when the running is complete, only 250 miles to go.
I just goes to prove not all of the new MCS are having big probs.

I woudl like to second that last comment as I ahve had zero issues on my car (though I have only done 183 miles).

The only issue is face-ache from holding an ear-to-ear grin while i'm driving it

I also had a good listen to the car with the windows down and on WOT it sounds very throaty/beefy - cool

Great review, I've done nearly 800 miles in mine and have loved every second I agree Rocco9999, the exhaust sounds awesome

As for the Hi-Fi I heard reports about it not being able to handle tracks with alot of bass - I tried the songs on mine with the bass right up and found it had brilliant bass and however high I turned the volume up (to the point the rear view mirror was shaking) the bass and sound just kept getting better.. I let my sister and her boyfriend listen and they were very impressed and we all agreed it was much better than H/K. Maybe just my experience but I'm very very impressed with the MINI Hi-Fi..

760 miles here.

Only a minor leak from the rear mirror
It will be one month on Monday and I wouldn't trade a moment of it. Best car I've ever had (so far)

Am glad to hear that people are embracing the new R56. Anyone also owned the previous R53 MCS? If so, what prompted you to order the new R56?

Owned 3 R53's and my wife still has a late 05 MCS. R56 is a totally different car to the R53. More relaxing and grown up better technology for sure and lower carbon foot print to boot

I still get a buzz driving the R53 but I wouldn't want to trade R56 for a single second. Both great cars full of character but really quite different from each other.

My car passed the magic 1200 run in period and to date not a single issue. My first 2 MINI's weren't as well engineered or built as my wifes current R53 and my brand new R56

Well done BMW the MINI adventures continue at full speed

I really like mine too. I have done over 2000 miles now and other than having to adjust the bonnet, a seat that has no memory and the left hand mirror not adjusting its fine.

The sad thing is I'm still waiting to get the seat and mirror fixed after nearly three months. How long should I have to wait to get it repaired? I'm getting a litle p*ssed off about the wait.
