I know a few Traffic Cops that have played this, but I'm sure it's not policy!

Driving style/age/sex/type of car are probably the factors they look at

This thread is kind of tough to respond to. Most cars on the road are silver-ish, therefore statistically, most cars being pulled over are silver. I have a close friend that is a police officer that does lots of traffic duty; he'll tell you all day long that police do NOT care about your car color, they care about how you drive!
