Offline | Thanks Washy, I do like quite a bit of bass and the thing I used to find with my old HK was that I quite often had to mess with the settings depending on what genre of music I was listening to but the new system while perhaps not as punchy seem a better all round setting for what I want. I would be interested to find out what anybody else thinks. I'm on holiday in Wales for the next week so there should be some nice MCS type roads to explore ![]() ![]() |

Offline | Hi Derek, we have just come back from our week in Wales and the weather was great. I say week ,we actually went from Saturday until Friday morning but rather than rush around in the morning trying to get out of the caravan by 10.00am we thought we would come home on Thursday evening, got back about 9.00pm last night.Nice roads but on the way there there was loads of traffic. Normally the journey takes about 2 hrs 45 but it took nearer 4 hrs to get there. We don't normally go anywhere like the coast on a bank holiday and now I know why. Recieved a lot of nice comments about the car ![]() I took my Meguiars quick detailer to keep it looking clean and shiny. The next door caravan inhabitants were commenting how shiny it was and I did have to let on that it should be as it was only three days old at the time. Yes I am very happy with it, my first MO was great and apart from a harsh ride (on 17" s spokes with standard suspension) and a replacement steering rack everything was great, swopped for the facelift MO in September 04 and pretty much had problems from the outset, rattling speedo replaced, ripped dash whilst changing speedo another three dash tops cos they were either punctured or ripped or squeaking like mad, two sunroofs, three gearboxes, two windscreens(but possibly three) BC1 module, toggle switch panel came loose so i couldn't drop the windows and a host of either dealer or manufacture problems. So I was a little sceptical as to whether I would get a decent R56 judging by things I had read but also hopeful that my 04 MO was more of an exception than the rule. I can only speak as I have found and so far and at this point in time its great.Seems better screwed together, quieter (apart from when you give it some) and smooth, i can understand peoples complaints that it has gone too soft but personally I'm not generally hooning round the corners nowadays and I like the mix of performance and comfort. ![]() |

Offline | Zyo people could not be fail to be impressed with those wheels on, and glad the weather was good , but that list does not say a lot about past mini's that sounds to good, but your luck has changed as getting 5 days holiday this year without rain is a miracale ![]() |

Offline | As the weather has been going this summer I was suprised to get good holiday weather but I'm not complaining, what i am complaining about is all the suicide flies that were out on our journey home last night. For about 25 to 30 miles between Welshpool and Telford there were so many that I had to stop to clear the windscreen several times . I did 3 miles at one point before having to pull over and clear the screen cos I coudn't see a bloomin thing. I have attached a photo..you have to imagine that the screen was like this all over aswell as all the fron of the car and the backs of the mirrors. ![]() |

Offline | The last time I was in Scotland was 1978 as a ten year old with my parents and we had a glorious week staying in Fort William. I was so impressed as a ten year old to be able to go to Santa Claus land in Avimore? and touch the north pole( basically a refrigerated stick)...but to me ..it was the north pole...allbeit a little bit further south than it should have been. The Meguiars quick detailer got them off pretty good and without any elbow grease. ![]() |

Offline | That's a shame Derek, I remember having a fantatsic holiday. My parents had said that it wouldn't be a beach holiday like we usually had in Wales but the weather was scorching and it was great and we went on loads of ferry trips to various islands. It was odd cos we were travelling around the highlands when my sister said that is Mrs Jones behind, her tutor from school here in Telford hundreds of miles away. We were in the middle of nowhere and we saw her, it was wierd. We were in my dads white mk 4 cortina 2.0GL, how cool ![]() Back to MINIs and it's been raining on my car for the first time since I've had it ![]() I suppose i'll have to get used to it. ![]() |
