Offline | Cheers DerekH. Am on 750 miles now and only problem I have is a small rattle from inside one of the airvents on the dash. Its not there all the time and is fairly quiet (can't hear it with the radio/stereo on). Am going to get the car run in before I take it back to the dealer's for a fix - wait and see if anything else develops. Other than that the car is great! A totally different drive from my 2002 MCS but just as good in a different way. The power of the new engine (and the fuel economy) is far superior to the supercharged engine, although as you've probably read on here, it doesn't sound as good. Overall, am thrilled with the new car and I'm sure you will be with yours. What spec are you having? |

Offline | ru81 i was down in Oxford last summer for 2 days beautiful hired a boot down the water and of course did at factory at night Mini factory was great. Spec may come as a suprise as this is ment to be my wifes car as i have BMW 330D sport i got in december it is great but i,m far more excitted waiting for this Mini . We was for a start going for a Cooper with Chilli Pack then big mistake test drove MCS and was blown away at looks and drive so had a buget of approx £15 to £16K for second car so no Chilli pack on MCS as very cild up in north Scotland don't use air con a lot so Have Chilli Red white roof Bonnet stripes Grown 17" alloys red colour line, Fog's,ordered side skirts and spot lights to fit my self, 3 spoke steering, JCW chequered mats, was more intrested in handling and performance and looks. ![]() |

Offline | Mine is a fairly basic spec as well, although I did get the chili pack (for resale value as much as anything else). Like you, I don't use the aircon much, so if you are not too bothered about the possible effect on resale I think it could be a good move saving money by not having the chilli pack. On the upside, you won't lose loads of money on the extras!! Glad to see you got the 17" wheels though - I think they're a must. Like you said, I'd rather have a lower spec S rather than a high spec cooper. I'm still undecided as to whether I'm going to get stripes and/or spot lights. I like the look of the car with and without them. Hmmm decisions decisions....... |

Offline | Thanks Derek, It's really only a weekend car so it's only chilli pack,LSD and sunroof. I should think I will add the Works kit aswell when that comes out. I spent a fortune on my last S (see gallery) and it really hurt to be told all the extras were pretty worthless when it came to trade in time, so i'm being a little more careful with my money this time. |
