Hi Drinkingnick The car is ment to be for my wife but been hard to get her out of the driving seat , but the best bit was car was ready to pick up tuesday, and i was away tuesday with a few guys to Monte Carlo and still recovering yet was so good, got the car on Sat but still to get the Spot lights and skirts fitted as dealer was wanting to much so will sort out this soon also have stuff on at the weekend and work long hours during the week so might be a little time till i get the photo's.
The car makes you feel so good and the Sport button realy does work all the faults i have seen on the board don't seem to be there thank goodness engine is noisey slightly nothing to worry me though, the car looks great inside with Rooster Red colour line and standard Chequred dash and JCW mats look great. The problem will be getting my wife to take the BMW well thank goodness the Mini has only 4 Seats. The colour choice we have made we both realy like and the dealer had two more MCS's in chilli red so seem's to be getting more popular on the new MCS

cool derek glad ur happy with it. If u get a chance stick sum pics up before the skirts and spots go on. Im interested in an exterior exactly like yours prior to skirts and spots so wud b great viewing for me, and im sure others on the board wud love to c it. Closest i have seen is kenny but he has white wheels on his S.

I quite like the fact that not many peeps seem to b going for red. Lets hope it stays that way and keeps are car's a little more exclusive. everyone seems to go for the laser blue (which i did like but have now gone off) there r loads in this colour under a year old for sale i have seen.

All the best happy motoring

Nick

I had heated seats in my last S JCW with the sparco seats, and never used it, so why pay more for something you don't use.

I have more troubles with those trucklanes (don't know the exact english word) in the road then with my last R53 JCW, which also drove with the 18"R95
This car is more searching and directer on the steering wheel.

the heated seats in the R56 are very cosy and the buttons look good on the dash too.

Hi Guys & Girls the long awaited arrival arrived last Saturday. I had originally been looking at a cooper with extras but after making the mistake of driving the Cooper S first was hooked by its looks and performance and had a set budget as it was a car mainly for my wife and some fun driving for myself at the weekends.
Spec: MCS
17" Crown Spoke
Fog lights
Bonnet Stripes
Sports Steering Wheel
Rooster Red Colour Line
JCW Chequered Mats
Standard Chequered Dash and Seats
Passenger seat height adjustment
Spot lights to follow shortly (fitting myself)
Skirts to follow shortly after getting them at a reasonable price

Up in the North East of Scotland no major need for air conditioning and wanted the car to look nice without having to spend too much above the list price hope it has worked. I plan to keep the car for 4 years approx so not so much worried about not having a Chili Pack.

First impressions - Great car to look at all be it sitting a bit high on the wheels I think the side skirts may help make the car look lower. Inside the car I am very pleased with the interior look apart from the poor quality switches. I am glad to say up to now I have not seen any of the unfortunate problems other unlucky members have had long may it continue and the engine does sound slightly noisey compared to other 1600 engines but the ride on the standard suspension with the 17" wheels is very good but being quite honest anything would be better than my current E90 330d Sport its suspension is far too hard for the roads up here and is far harder then my last 330d sport. I will now have to persuade the wife to take the BMW more often as the car handles so beautifully and you just want to drive it all the time. Sorry for the delay with the photos was having a problem reducing the size of them on my computer. Full review to follow shortly.

Cloth/Rooster Red leather seats
Interior colour line Rooster Red (yes, it's very red)
Piano Black trim (... and very black)
Storage compartment pack

I need to run it in a bit before I have a real opinion.

Takes about 2k miles for them to bed in properly. Thrash the life out of it until then and it will be super quick. Engines are factory run in now anyway.

I'll snap some over the weekend. It's not a million miles different to yours, apart from the black, that is! I think my first change is to get the Carbon Fibre air scoop... just to add some more black.

I've also got a 2004 Cooper that is red/white so went for the black as a change. As far as I'm concerned, the red or pepper white are the only 'true' Mini colours!

It's more the other mechanicals as well, the gear shift seems quite notchy. I've got to go up to Chesterfield next week so I may give it the motorway miles. It won't take me long; my Cooper now has 102,300 on it, in one month less than 3 years.
