Offline | Mini adventure is great! Can't wait to run the car in and then finally open the throttle up and have a proper dirve. Just realised I posted this on the MCS thread though - mines just a mere MC |

Offline | I could have afforded to purchase an MCS but the spec would have been minimal. The problem was the insurance! I'm now at £60/month on the MC (down from £75 last year and £125 the year previous on a Beetle 1.6) but the MCS but me back in the £100+/month zone which was just not manageable. |

Offline | Totaly agre Andy the insurance now aday's is silly money mife wife got the cover for the MCS £259 per year with the extra's on the car excellent quote, the cooper is excellent as well and with the way the roads are now a very sensible option. Have you any plans for fitting any stuff in the future ![]() |

Offline | It's difficult to compare in such a short time but my immediate reaction is that the R56 has a more refined ride but less feel and less actual road holding. Both run 17" r/f but the Cooper has a GTT strut-brace (that has made a world of difference) and I've not yet found the nerve to try to slide the MCS! After 100k+ in the old one, the new will take some adjusting to and the extra torque and LSD in the MCS should make it quicker ultimately. The other 'first impression' is that there are far too many electronic gizmos and I can't figure them out... but, again, that's probably just familiarity. I'll never be convinced that they're necessary. I've not even yet found the best driving position; the door arm-rest and the centre arm-rest are at different heights and I now have the additional fore-and-aft on the steering wheel! As for a 'classic'... forget it! I had enough the first time around and drove one a year or so ago, which removed all the sentimentality! I have to rack up a lot more UK miles in the next 18 months, 50k estimate, and plan to keep the Cooper for that; I want to keep the MCS down to "less than average". |

Offline | Personally, my last 3 tax years were: '07 - 32,312 '06 - 38,176 '05 - 41,576 We run a number of cars/vans and they all crank up the clicks. The Cooper has been stunningly cheap to run, though, and the reliability is 100% so far. We keep vehicles until they become uneconomic, so it could last a long time. Examples: 1998 M-B 300TD, someone made me an offer at 231k 1997 Fiesta 1.25 Zetec, dumped at 162k, bodywork rot and interior disintegration 1994 Peugeot 205 GRDT got to 141k, injection pump failed (although it got repaired and I still see it around!) Of all the vehicles in our fleet records, the Cooper has been cheapest; (with an estimated residual of £4,000 at 3 years) 24.7 pence per mile all-in with fuel. |

This is our 4th, had to wait 6 months for the first two (Coopers), then 2 months (Conv), now less than 6 weeks. So pretty much used to it. Still it doesn't get any easier. |

Offline | Derek congradulations love the car... Though please before you put the skirts and spots on take a pick on an angle. Angle picks look the best then you can see the wheels and the bonnet stripes/colour scheme more complete. If you get chance i would love to see some pics like that. Im saving up for that exact same exterior colour scheme myself, so they would really help me . By the way i love the matts they look supurb and compliment the colours of the exterion well, just make the car abit more funky. How much were they?? oh do any of you guys value the visability pack as an option im thinking you need it really for the heated back mirror, otherwise how do you see out on a cold day??? currently specing Chili red white roof + wind mirrors bonnet stripes Chilli Pack - AND mayb visability (not sure if i need it or not) Regards Nick |

Offline | eggtruck.... I can't seem to see the photos of your car you posted on page 1 of this thread (may have been removed?). I'm thinking of getting bonnet stripes and spot lights for my chili red/white MCS and would love to see some pics. Please could you put your photos up again? Or could anyone else help? Many thanks. |

Offline | Here are pics of it with and without sign writing. The bonnet stripes were not the best. They could have been wider and more in line with the spot lights. I loved the spots - much better quality than the R53 spots and sit better on the front of the car. |

Offline | Now these are bonnet stipes (pepper white R53) Saw vipers the other day on an R56 and thought they looked a bit odd. If anyone is offered the hyper blue (HG05 NKW) in the other pic then be aware as it has a bit of a dodgy history. |
