Am I missing anything out on my Spec for a R56 S?

Hi Guys,

I Am very close in ordering a R56S and have decided on the following spec...i would just like to have people opinions if they think I am missing anything out or any extra which they dont deem necessary

MCS S Manuel
Astro Black
Lea Lounge Carbon Black
Chili Pack
Comfort Access
Auto Aircon
Sat Nav
6 CD changer
Bluetooth (inc multifunction steering wheel and armrest)
Mirror Pack
Chrome Mirror Pack
Parktronic
Panoramic Sunroof
Anthracite Headlining
Heated Seats
LSD

Would order Aftermarket R99's aswell in polished finish. I know its pretty highly specced already but would cherish some of your opinions and views!

Many thanks

JM

Chrome Interior?
The dash looks cheap without the chrome line.

Does the Chili Pack comes with DSC?

If you're into your music I'd go for the ipod connection. It really cuts down on having cd's cluttering the car especially when there's hardly any storage anyway. I would'nt be without the ipod connection now, its one of my favourite features of the car!

Nice spec by the way

Good spec! But some of my opionions...

Parking sensors (parktronic?) - are these really needed on small cars? I have them on my 4x4 (very useful being big car), but not on my MCS.

CD changer - CD's are soon to go the way of tapes in my opinion - digitial (MP3) music stored on hard/flash drives is future for cars (already here) - so burn multiple CD's into MP3 format onto a single CD, slot it into the single-slot CD player, and use that as your (MP3) "changer". Or, as suggested, change to an iPod connector.

DSC - for safety (if important to you?)... can always switch off anyway.

Visibility Pack - heated windscreen (boon in winter months), auto-dim mirror (excellent), sensor wipers (waste of time), auto-lights on (waste of time).

Dark tint rear glass looks good.

Yes, they are just as necessary. Size is not important (where I have I heard that phrase before? ) it's blind spots. Even the MINI has blind spots large enough to hide a toddler. Or a push chair. Or a dog. Or a bollard. It's one thing that I miss from my '04 Cooper

As the rear window on an R56 is even smaller this has become even more important.

Tigger.

I'd upgrade to the hi fi speaker system, I've heard the standard one is not up to much compared to the standard one in the R53! I would tell you what it's like but I haven't got mine yet, May/June aaarrggghhh!

I have the hifi upgrade and don't think it is great, but better than the standard system which is even worse. Personally I would swap the 6cd for the hifi (or consider aftermarket hifi, as the upgrade is lacking in power I think - there are many threads/comments on this area!)

I have Sat nav and TV and voice control.
you are right you can control the phone book with bluetooth, but not the rest of the car, with a 6 stacker you can say "CD 5" and it will go to CD5 I love it!
"TV" it goes to TV
"radio" it goes to radio

very cool stuff.

But you can dial numbers with your voice. still cool!

Hey buddy..

is the 10 speaker hifi really that bad? i'm really concerned about this as music and sound is important to me. I must i was a huge fan of the Harman Kardon in my old R50. The sound cranked hard however, the stupid speakers and door trims rattled heaps

do tick the hi-fi option otherwise you will regret it. There are many happy owners with hi-fi, and if you like your music, it is a must have!! It sounds excellent in my opinion

Sounds very nice indeed visibility pack would likely be a good option and spotlights thank goodness its not me that's got the bill. Good luck with your new car.
