Thumbs up Out with the old in with the new...

After weeks of deliberating and mind changing, I finally picked up the new Cooper S a week last Friday. I would like to thank everyone who helped me in my (life or death) dilemmas, when trying to choose spec options. You guys/gals must be the most helpful friendly bunch on the whole internet.

My initial thoughts on the new car are.... very happy.
I went for Laser Blue, Black Roof & Bonnet stripes.
Chili Pack, Fluid Silver, Chrome Line Interior, LSD, Sports Suspension, Heated Mirrors/Washers
(Not a massive spec I know but didn't want to go over £18.5K )

I'm made up with it, it's far superior to my good old '03 cooper, ride is a lot better, the interior is more classy (so glad I went for chrome line interior), obviously it's far more powerful. My worries where over the standard stereo, I was expecting it to sound like two old bean cans connected with string, but it sounds pretty decent to me, although I have only tried the radio so far. So far so good...

I really liked the old Cooper but it didn't show any power until you where in the 3k to 4K rev range, the new cooper s has power as soon as you put your foot down, with no lag, (not that I know much about turbo charges anyway). The ride is better than the cooper even though I have sports suspension. (The cooper seemed to 'wobble' over bumps the S feels solid). The steering feels a little lighter, but I presume thats because it's a different system, (it doesn't make that wining noise like the old model). I've not tried the Sport button yet though.

The whine of the steering or the whine of the supercharger? I would of preferred the whine of the supercharger, it did sound cool. Damn you fake air intake!

Nice new R56. However, your old "Underpowered" Chili red Cooper looks stunning.
