Offline | Greetings Hi I've been lurking on here since before the R56 was launched, so I thought it was about time I posted. Many thanks to all of you for the helping us choose the spec, hope you enjoy the pics in my Gallery (I tried to add them but wasn't allowed because this is my first post). It’s been about 20 years since I last owned a mini, a bright green 850cc mini City. It was seriously underpowered especially on motorways, but great fun all the same. Move forward to the 21st century and we are now the proud owners of an MCS. Its three weeks old today and we have covered 750 smile inducing miles. The only minor problems we have found so far are a couple of annoying rattles from the secret storage compartment and the centre console. |

Offline | Hi mac2, your MCS looks spec'd pretty much exact same as mine (except for colour). Mine is also just over 3 weeks old / 650 miles.... And, like you really enjoying the car... except for same "annoying rattles from the secret storage compartment". Didn't spec it, but got it free as now standard build in Chili pack. I'm waiting until car fully run-in (1250 miles, another couple weeks) before going back to Dealer to see about fix. Have you done anything about it yet? Does Dealer have a known fix for the fabulously plastic over-engineered lid? Anyway, enjoy and happy motoring! ![]() |

Offline | Hi scotland67, like you I'm waiting for a few more weeks to see if any other problems develop. As far as the rattle goes, I find its worse when the dash has has had the sun shining on it, and the plastic gets warm. I haven't seen anything about a fix yet, I'm not sure that replacement will cure the problem. |

Offline | Yep, same... rattle is worst when dash/plastic has been warmed by sun! I find it so bad sometimes that I drive around with the lid open, which does stops the rattle. I have even tried putting some extra soft rubber strips on the closed contact points (but no difference!)... must be within the platic hinges, so a design flaw? |
