Offline | To Viper Stripe Or Not?! Hello, Hello! I'm reasonably new here and picked up my very first Mini just 2 weeks ago! All now run in and the fun has begun The question is, i'm due to have viper stripes fitted on the front and rear on friday (not sure about having them on the roof - i'm liking the whiteness), but now i've got the car in its original state i'm liking it and doubting the need for the vipers. Pics of the car as is attached. Please could people let me know there thoughts and whether i should go for them or not? Also any pics of the vipers would be good. Thanks very much. Paul |

Offline | Thanks for your quick replies. The original plan was for white stripes on the bonnet and boot with blue stripes on the roof (was never certain by the roof though). I've seen the silver stripes before and they do look really good, but would prefer to keep the whole blue and white theme going. Another user posted some pics of the vipers before i got the car which really made me think about them - pics of this car attached (hopefully the user wont mind). Its a tough decision!! |

Offline | Hi Derek H, Thanks for your reply. Bonnet stripes were on my original factory order but i removed them when seeing the Vipers. I agree they do look best on cars of all one colour. The vipers on Fakesnakes Mini do really set it off. Decision decisions!! There's far too many options!! |

Offline | Thank you for your kind words. I spent ages deliberating & looking at various stripes. Ended up getting a plain, BRG MCS, & had it striped to my spec. I had thought of silver vipers, but to be quite honest, it was too modern for me. Now with an all blue R56..................... Richard ( I have a MCS too) |

Offline | We will get our Laser blue MCS next week (more than 8 months after ordering) and we are in the same boat. The normal hood stripes are on almost every Mini. The vipers look very good, except for the area around the hoodscoop, and the lightning stripes are a bit over the top. Color is also difficult, should we stick with white or do white with silver lining or maybe all silver. We don't like the blue stripes on the roof, especially on the sunroof. Sleepless nights ! And why is there still no Icon of the dutch flag, the country of Mini United 2007 ![]() |

Offline | Does anyone know?... If you do put the stripes (aftermarker; MINI-approved) on your car, do they come OFF easily in future should you decide they are not the look you wanted (or you fancy a change)? Obviously they need to be stuck on sufficiently well to withstand wear/tear of a car's life / washing / polishing /etc., but when / if(?) they come off do they leave marks on paintwork (meaning having to put other stripes on again is only option?). Also, some people (me included) have experienced the occasional " very hot bonnet" trait on our R56's (due to heat generated by turbo I believe?) - again, I'm guessing that stripes can withstand this heat without issue? Thoughts/experiences please? |

Offline | After another sleepless night the car has gone in this morning for the stripes!! Hopefully when i pick it up this evening i'll love it?! Walking away from the dealer i kept looking back and my little mini was looking good just standard. I'm sure i've done the right thing?! I did ask the dealer if the stripes can be removed and they were very confident they can. I can only assume the longer there left the harder it will be, and the more discolouration from sun light etc. I'll post pics over the weekend for your thoughts! Paul |

Offline | Thanks very much DerekH and Ollie Tebbutt, your comments are much appreciated. I'm very happy with it, i was really dreading going to collect all day incase i didn't like it or the roof stripes just looked wrong. Surprisingly though the roof looks good and they've done the scoop slightly different to what i was expecting, but i do prefer it! It does definately stand out more now, just hope it doesn't get the wrong attention!! Very happy Mini Man ![]() |

Offline | Thanks very much ru81. I've seen ta red/white cooper s on here somewhere with the vipers and it did look very nice. Try searching, hopefully you'll find some pics that'll help you decide. I paid £250 for them. Apparently they took over 6 hours to fit!! |
