Offline | My new Dark Silver MCS Well, I've had the car a few weeks now, and finally managed to take a few quick pictures. At the weekend I tried out the Sport button, and I have to say, it really does turn the car into a different beast. The steering firms up to stop the torque steer you get when it's off, and you can absolutely floor the car. Although I'm trying to be careful and let it run in a bit - only done 150miles so far - this little motor begs to be thrown around corners and revved through all six gears at every opportunity! It's great fun to drive. I came from an E36 328i Sport (Auto) - just fancied a change - and so far I'm very pleased with my Mini BMW! Offline | Thanks all. Managed to stick another 300+ miles over the weekend with a blast up to Birmingham to see some friends at the weekend. I'm glad I went for the dark silver, as it's not showing the dirt yet......just on the wheels....with all the late braking! I was impressed with the pull from the engine in 6th....from on or around the legal limit . Wasn't quite a match for the Ferrari Enzo that appeared rather quickly in my rear view mirror though.... The roar from his engine was crazy.I ticked the Sports Suspension from the options list, and although a firm ride, it was pretty forgiving on the motorway but even better on the country lanes. Pressing the Sport button is a must though - wish it would stay on all the time now! R56 Mini Cooper S / dark silver / black punch interior / chili pack +more arrived: 17-Apr-2007 |

Offline | That is exactly the colour combo/wheels I went for! I went for the piped black leather (lounge) - looks like you went for the other leather option (sorry I cant remember name). Have you had any issues? Any rattles? Looks fantasic, cant wait to get my hands on mine. |

Offline | well....i was behind him for about 15 miles from Oxford....caught up with him (the Enzo!) when he hit traffic.... ....but I must say, the Cooper S was quite happy blasting down the fast lane at any speed . I held off a bit though, as I picked up 3 points on the same stretch of road with my previous car last year....and didn't want to tempt fate and meet that lovely Vauxhall Omega with the flashing lights on my journey home..... Yes, I got the punch carbon black leather. Seats are really good. To be honest the whole car feels very solid and well put together. I get what a few people say about the auto-air con controls - plastic could be better - but otherwise, all very solid. So far everything seems to be rattle free. Only problem is the iPod connector not yet working (taking it in on Saturday ).You'll be grinning all the way home when you pick it up. You'll also give in to the temptation to absolutely floor it within about 5 seconds....I only got around the corner from the dealership before I stretched the accelerator... I am trying to run it in though....honest...![]() R56 Mini Cooper S / dark silver / black punch interior / chili pack +more arrived: 17-Apr-2007 |
