Pop from Exhaust!!

Hi,

Couple of times now, I've heard a pop from the exhaust when accelerating and changing from 1st to 2nd.

Not accelerating hard at all - anyone any ideas??

Car is brand new, less than 600 miles on it, running it on 98 ron fuel as well

I thought it's either back pressure releasing or ...backfiring (which I doubt, but its a possibility).

Anyone had similar??

The R56 is an excellent car BTW!!

Yeah, sounds fine. You only need to be concerned if it starts backfiring like Del and Rodneys TIT van

Been hearing a few random backfiring from mine as well
Usually whilst driving at low speeds from 1st to 2nd.
And its not like my previous '05 S which was more a crakle/pop... the R56's is a deep, booming POW!

If you look at the video here: http://www.mini2.com/article382-mini...hort-tour.html

Towards the end the engine is revved so you can hear the exhaust burble and pop. It's a very nice tone I think.

Yes, yes!

Completely normal and great. Actually one of the best bits of the car.

And also you can get a nice burbling and poping when revving in idle between 2000-3000 rpm!

Regards,

Damir
