Offline | Just Ordered a MCS; couple questions... Hi Guys! I'm in the market for a new car (coming from a 02 GTI), I did SOME research on the mini and it immediately grew on me like mold on bread, and so I decided to check out a MINI dealership here in LA. Placed an order here is my spec: - Laser Blue/Black roof & mirros - Premium package - Sport packate - JCW kit Here are my question.s. How is the Leatherete in terms of quality and durability? Has anyone opted for the Ipod adapter? Is it a dock type thing or just a connecter? Is it even out? A few posts have now got me scared about MINI's with all this talk about poor builds. I really hope I won't be disappointed because I'm infatuated with these damn cute cars. |

Offline | Thx for the warm welcome! I'm glad your MCS is perfect (knocks on wood), how many miles do you have on it so far? Does the Ipod adaptor have a dock or something or is the Ipod just dangling around in that secret compartment? |

Offline | Welcome to Mini2 , we have had our car for 3 weeks and we love it fingers crossed no problems to date. I think the early cars had suffered some major problems. The ipod adapter has been dicussed a lot search the board type ipod or go to Hifi interior section and look for ipod related stuff, good luck with your car when you get it. ![]() |

| Not the best | Sorry mate, got a Cooper ![]() Didn't make that very clear ![]() ![]() However in response to your 2nd question about the iPod, the iPod has a lead that pertrudes from the middle of the dash (inside, you cannot see it from anywhere in the car), and the socket is located in the glove compartment. However, we may only have a Cooper, but we are running on 17" wheels, and no squeaks or rattles at all. Quite remarkable compared to our last R50 Cooper on 16s And we've got 4130 miles on the clock. Hope this helps ![]() |

Offline | Thx, you're definitely helping and putting my mind at ease with my order. Sounds like I may have to opt for the ipod adaptor... =) I have another question... I placed an order and the dealer said it may take about 4-8 weeks for production and delivery I think, does it take 4-8 weeks from the time I placed my order or from the point where they actually send the order? We were talking while looking through their list of orders and he mentioned that my order may be bumped up to the 20th of this month. I'm trying to get a better understanding on how this process works. |

Offline | I have 2007 Cooper S with leatherette and the quality is better than the cloth seats for sure. The leatherette seats do not come with lumbar adjustment as in upgraded upholstery seating from half leather and up. The cushion of leatherette is not as soft as lounge leather (haven't tried sport seat full leather). However, I would opt for leatherette again b/c it looks really good and hard to tell if it is real leather or not to casual eyes. In addition, spending extra $1500 to 2000 on a few feet of leather does not have as much impact as opting for a premium package or Aero Kit. |

Offline | So I got an email from my dealer saying ETA of my mini would be end of July/Early August. Damn I'm so excited and impatient. You guys have any suggestions where I should go to first when I receive my car? A restaurant, a beach, the canyons? Any suggestions? I'll even document it. |

Offline | My '06 has leatherette and my '07 has cloth. The cloth is more comfortable for a long drive (read: it breaths) but the leatherette is easier to keep clean, looks better, and is more supportive during hard romps. I would've rather gotten leatherette in the new one but all of the Mellow Yellows on the lot had cloth and my wife was dead-set on mellow yellow (even though it's my car)... Safety fast, Bill |
