right guys, im off for a test drive today of a new s anything i should be looking for/ doing whilst im out bar the obivous?! Cheers,

Do you have to have the dealer with you???
Mine just gave me the keys and said try and be back by 4!.....that was at 10am....had a great time and ordered there and then.
I dont think you can get the proper feel for a car with the salesman sat there.

When I went out for a test drive the sales assistant came with me... She said it was for insurance purposes (hmmm

), but to be fair you will make up your mind pretty quickly if you like it or not

I was not allowed out without a salesperson there, again for insurance purposes.

I asked for a 24 test drive and was told "No", but I could hire a mini Cooper S for £65 for a day inc insurance. Not quite as good as my last car (a Lexus) where they had no issue about giving me their demo for 24 hours as long as I swapped my insurance to cover it.

My test drive was from Elms MINI Cambridge......just had to sign the insurance.....and off I went.
I must admit I was surprised, I called to see when i could get a test drive......my salesman said when can you be here?! Really made my decision easy

well just got bk and it was truely amazing! shame the salesman was there with me but he was just telling me to push it etc, proper nice bloke! car feels much more stable than the older model i have and im not sure about everyone else but it just made the drive more confident....!? anyhow, time to start speccing and ordering....the fun begins!!

I had a 34 hr test drive back in 03 and all the dealer wanted was me to put it on my insurance, when I popped in to look at the R56 S in November i purposely didn't take my license so I wouldn't be tempted to test drive. When I got there the salesman said do you want a test drive, I said I hadn't brought my license but he just chucked me the keys, he said we know you, ( I have had two MINIs from there). I'm waiting on an S now so it worked

Ive had my S for about 3 months (ish) now, and not a thing I would change or improve (everything has been spot on *crosses fingers*) apart from the S badge paint peeling

Loving it.

Mmm... I have added a new Alta air filter, Alta stubby aerial and want to get Mikey to upgrade stereo (when I get ££ together), also waiting on GTT bringing out some strut braces...

...and apart from that I love my car...though my rattle in the storage compartment is back so will have to get the dealer to "adjust" it again.
