Offline | Question about a my Order MCS Hi, I have a Mini Cooper S on order and have only added the following options: Auto Climate Control On-Board Computer 17" Chown Alloys Looking on the Mini website and specing the car up, I notice that the car has the front fog light showing in the picture. Will I have the front fog light as shown in the picture or do I need to add them as an extra? Cheers |

Offline | according to the configurater fog lights are £90, so on a std cooper s you will not get them, however the bumper must look the same as the sidelights are in the same glass as the foglights, have you not considered the chili pack as u get crown spokes aircon foglights and quite a bit more however it is £2k |

Offline | Thanks picard, We have looked at the chili pack, but did not go for it, as its another £860 and we really didn't want the extra stuff. Just as long as we get the car looking like the one in the picture we are happy. Cheers |

Offline | It is a universal debate whether to get the Chili Pack or not. May people have found that when it comes to selling on have a hard time doing so if they don't have the chilli pack. Theres a big thread on here somewhere "to chili or not to chili" type of thing. For example: There is a gorgeous Pepper white/Black 06 MCS R53 style with no chili pack with less than 5000 on the clock on the cherished website and is down to £13999 compared to the other R53 MCS's with Chili pack of that same caliber around £15999-£16500. £2000-£2500 less just because no chilli pack! Maybe its something to think about? I know £2000 for the chili is a bit rediculous now though! |

Offline | Thats all that matters then. Its your MINI and whats the point in paying for extra if your not interested in them? This is the debate covered thousands of times in the speccing threads and no one answer is ever right. Its all personal preference. Enjoy! In answer of your first question: Fog lights will be an additional extra if not including Chili pack. |

Offline | the xenons are easily worth the extra money - I would def re-consider the chili pack as you don't want to regret it...you get the money back...and more when you come to selling it on |

| Wants an Audi | Why not just have manual AC, save a few £££ and add the chilli pack which will includes manual AC (or £230 to make it Auto AC) + all the other bits and bobs for an extra £630 (on top of what your options are above)..... and you get xenon lights which are fantastic!!! Also I would add the MFSW its £170 but you do get cruise control with that .![]() Now With Toyo Rubber!! ![]() |

Offline | Now you've just got to choose what colour half leather seats and trim to go for, black, red, blue, yellow or cream!! That opens a whole new barrel of laughs! Good luck speccing! |

Offline | Very wise of you. The Chili Pack although expensive does offer a lot of good extras, and the cost will be largely recovered when you sell the car. Good luck with your new car. |

Offline | From my experience of trying to sell my 06 cooper. Any extras that you add on are worth nothing when selling back to the dealers. I bought a 06 Cooper Hyper blue brand new in July 06. Chilli pack, HK sound system, ipod interface, spotlamps & JCW sound kit. Currently 11K on clock. Probably cost me near £16K, one dealer offered me £9.5K, another dealer said £10K. Both had the excuse of "it might take some selling as it has no air conditioning" |

Offline | Sorry but I don't agree. Prior to buying my MCS I had a 04 Honda Civic Type-R. Manual A/C was an optional extra at £1,000 which I got. When I part-exchanged the Honda for the MCS this month I had an extra £600 because it had A/C. Prior to this I paid for a Glass's Guide valuation, the same applied + £600 if you had A/C . I also advertised the Honda on Piston Heads, Type-R's were difficult to sell at a good price unless they had A/C. |

| Wants an Audi | I don't think so, when you get up to the price your looking at for your car most people expect AC. If they had 2 cars in of same (ish) spec, which one would go first???? Its a huge but on the advert to sell a car with an otherwise good spec : ---------------------------- Chilli pack, HK sound system, ipod interface, spotlamps & JCW sound kit. Currently 11K on clock But no Air Con ------------------------------- The way I look at it is that if you had good use out of the extras and enjoyed the car it softens the blow. ![]() Now With Toyo Rubber!! ![]() |

Offline | The way I look at it is that if you had good use out of the extras and enjoyed the car it softens the blow.[/quote] Definitely agree with Popey on this one - when I'm buying a car I always go for the extras I really want (as long as I can afford them obviously!) and everyone tells me I'm mad because I wont get any of the value back when I sell! But the way I see it is I'm buying the car for me to enjoy. Lifes too short ![]() |
