Offline | slip diff versus automatic Just ordering a new MCS this week and I notice I can have either a slip diff option in there or an automatic box, but not both. Can anyone tell me why they are mutually exclusive? If they are really exclusive, what's your bet on the most useful? |

Offline | Maybe sounds silly to answer a question with a question, but what do you want to drive? If you want an automatic, then forget the LSD as they are indeed mutually exclusive, if you want a manual, then I say plumb for the LSD. Depends how and where you want to drive as to what will suit you best really. |

Offline | I'm reallly enjoying the convenience of the AT. I can motor as aggressively as I like in the very twisty mountains (employing the paddle-shifts) on the weekends and can sit happily in traffic during my weekly commute without having to stomp on a clutch 18,000 times. Best of both worlds. If you plan to track the car more than once/year, get the MT and LSD... Safety fast, Bill |

Offline | I was in a similar situation also. Almost opted the autobox to make it easier for SO to drive (wouldn't have to teach her stick), and for the daily commute. But at the end of the day, I'm a gear-rower at heart, and I just didn't attain the same level of satisfaction w/ the autobox. Even the paddles felt like a novelty, and I just felt a bit detached during the whole experience. I can see the appeal though...convenient. |

Offline | Yeah - I plumped for the manual in the end. Still don't really know why the auto does not feature any kind of LSD, but I assume it's to do with the more complicated gearing or something. So it's manual MCS with LSD and DSC. Should be exciting enough for me. |
