Tire Rotation?

Up through 2006 MINI warned owners against tire rotation in the owner's manuals (?), but I've heard it said that they now suggest rotation at 5000 miles for '07s. Anyone familiar with this? I couldn't find any reference at all to rotation in my 2007 manual!

Funny you should mention this!

My manual states;

'The manufacturer of your MINI recommends that you do not swap the front wheels with the rear wheels and vice versa, as this may impair the handling characteristics of your MINI.'

It's on page 100 of my manual from my MINI which is an 08 Mini Cooper D, this manual however is the same for the One, Cooper, Cooper S & Cooper D.

TBH i dont do this anyway, worn tyres on the rear of the car can lead to oversteer and thats why manufactures dont recommend it.

The reason i dont do it as when you need to change tyres you will have to replace all 4, i just relace 2 and put them on the back by this time when i put the back tyres on the front they still have 5 mil of tread on them and new tyres on the back!
