Online | Its normal. BMW programmed a fuel dump into the r53, r50 and 52 vcersions to give it a popple on over run. the r56 will undoubtably have the same....it is especially pronounced on the forced induction cars (where popping on over run is fairly normal anyhow) |

Online | The whistle is the blow off or dump valve releasing excess pressure the turbo has produced and that is not being used due to not being in wide open throttle. This is also the noise you hear from the turbo powered imprezzas and lancer evos, although the boy racers fit ones that allow big pressure build up with a single vent at the end rather than a constant vent like on a stock car |

Offline | i thought i heard somewhere that the mapping was revised for the US where they would not be so keen on the popping and burbling. is this true? ![]() www.kaesminiclub.com |

Offline | I have a July 07 build MCS and am not familiar with the Clubman 'S'......do you have twin exhaust outlets at the rear ? Mine pops mostly when changing from 1st to 2nd, but although I cannot hear it all the time, I have noticed pedestrians turn their heads. Not far from my home a road goes under a bridge, and there are traffic lights. If I accelerate hard from the lights with the window down and change up to 2nd gear it's really audible.....but not always ![]() |
