Question MCS MPG ?? Help !!

Can anyone tell what mpg you get out of your cooper S and how many miles you get on a full tank ? As i am trying to work out which is better the cooper D or the cooper S due to the high price of diesel is there much difference now ? I have heard the S can quite frugal if you want it to be ?

I can confirm that my MCS goes great on the highway for fuel... over 1000miles, it averaged 45mpg - but around town and my driving style it is closer to 28mpg. Can really notice the difference if you take care and actually drive conservatively.

On the highway - great on fuel and got the power and confidence to overtake. Around town, can be driven like 'grandma' or like you stole it.

I would go the MCS...

Getting around 40mpg average from mine from my daily commute to work which is 2 miles town, 6 miles up and down windy country roads (i.e. fun). Not bad I think and the smile it puts on your face driving it over the D is worth mucho £££££s.

Currently 32.3mpg, 99% town driving and to give you a comparison my previous 2 MINI ONES were doing between 29-31 with the same sort of driving.

Bought my MCS in July 07 and the MPG over 6,000 miles is 35 from the time I got it. The computer shows an average speed of 28.7 so that's very good. My previous Civic Type-R did 10 MPG less.

On long trips I would expect an average of about 41 plus
