Mine Doesn't POP!!

I have just covered my first fantastic 1000 miles in my cooper S (now has just turned 5000 miles) Was just wondering if other people's pop! I had a Cooper S checkmate which would pop and burble away and other people say that their R56 does too but I'm sure mine doesnt!

Any thoughts??????

Have you tried sitting in the car in neutral, constantly revving it to about 4000rpm? Thats when i can hear mine best.

I have found that it pops more when the engine is cold. Once it warms up it not so loud.

Also, i think from inside the car it is really hard to hear, cos a couple of R56 Cooper S's have driven past me when i was walking and as they slow down they pop and crackle away. But i can't ever hear mine do it when i'm driving.

Yours more than likely does, you just can't hear it from inside.

I seem to an occasional pop/crack from mine, seems to be when I 've been sitting at a junction with a little bit of revs on, when I pull away in first and then go to change to second it does quite a noticeable crack..sounds good..doesn't do it all the time though.

Cannot always make it pop, but when changing from 1st to 2nd under a bridge nearby with the window down it's quite loud

Your exhaust is probably popping quite happily but is not audible due to the good sound insulation of the MCS

Mine only started popping and burbling after 10 000kms. Now it constantly Pops (loud) when i change gears. The volume of th pop varies based on the fuel i use. BP Ultimate 95 creates the loudest pop. I LOVE IT

Will the poping be louder if i have the JCW exhaust?

MINI, it is a way of life.

We get more pops and burble using Shell V power.
