| MINI2 Newbie | Finally test drove the S Drove the S at the dealer today. Impressions was as good as I expected. Loving the lift off oversteer on roundabouts. Lots of torque from the engine which would be very good for some tracks. Specced up a new S which would cost £17k. May go for a 56-07 plate and fit an LSD when we start build on the car. Can anyone confirm whether the factory LSD on post march 07 cars fit? Also what kind of price can I expect to find a 56-07 plate S for? Only need a/c and LSD. Thanks |

Offline | And will fitting a LSD not mean a new gear box ? I thought that was where it was contained.....?? ...though could be completely wrong. And people that spec LSD probably end up spec'ing lots of other things (like me) so might be tricky to get one cheap. |

Offline | Well the JCW 4 Pot kit will be out soon so you can fit them! Also the new JCW 17 inch wheels from the factory car are light and available from any dealer. Few companies out there that offer remaps of around 210 bhp one of which is reviewed on this site somewhere. Milltek do a sport cat and cat back system. Are these all legal? .: R56 Cooper S : Dyno'd 192bhp :. ![]() .: H&R Springs : JCW Discs : Forge BOV : Alta CAI :. |

| MINI2 Newbie | They should be all legal. May not opt for a Milltek though. Wonder what exhaust is fitted on the challenge cars. Aiming for 160bhp/tonne max so won't go into the bottom of the top class. Estimating weight of 1170-80kg means we need around 190bhp. The rolling road used by the championship seems to undermeasure so maybe we can have more power. |

Offline | Well good luck! keeps us up dated on your build progress. Sounds interesting! As for the exhaust for the challenge cars, I 'think' the engine spec is the same as the factory JCW car. So if you look up the info on that it should be similar if not the same. MotoringFile » Archive » MINI John Cooper Works Officially Released As For 190bhp i think if you get a decent free flowing exhaust/cat will get you there, seeing that some stock R56 MCS are pulling 180-185 on dynos... or get the JCW dealer kit fitted if just for the air box and ECU tweaks. .: R56 Cooper S : Dyno'd 192bhp :. ![]() .: H&R Springs : JCW Discs : Forge BOV : Alta CAI :. |

| MINI2 Newbie | Think we'll just run it with new filter and exhaust for the last 2 rounds of this season before fitting new stuff for next year like the brakes, new wheels etc. Pop along to the race or test days next year. I'm sure we can get a seat in the car for the passenger. ![]() |
