DIY MC to have Six Gears..

According to motoringfile.com the future Mini Cooper will have six gears like the MCS.. I guess the Mini ONE will stick to five gears?

Don't know what there source is but they also say the CVT will be dropped in favour for an automatic similar to the one the MCS currently uses..

Makes sense, my MC Works always needed 6 gears and presuming the standard MC will have more power than the outgoing one I think this will be a smart move.

It was acceptable in the 80's

Your post read that only the MCS will have a CVT, I was just restating it a little more clearly.

Unhappy

So the CVT box will be replaced by a non - CVT one? That is a step backwards isn't it? Recently I drove a Dodge Neon automatic in the States and was surprised by how bad it was...

Finally! Six speeds are a must for keeping the car in its powerband in daily driving.
