Just goes to show the difference the disguise make, i think it looks great, subtley different but not too different, i'm more concerned with interior shots i've seen , if they are correct it looks too grown up inside and seems to have lost some of the fun. Having said that i think that the exterior is better than expected(IMO) so the same could be true of the interior

nice to see what look like untouched images, well at least untouched compared to their usual poor photoshop efforts

Not too sure about the shape of the front grill, bit too angular IMO

Agreed. It's a bit like a toned down version of the Orciari bodykit (think that's the one anyway), not too fussed on it.

Like the rear bumper though, it's more aggressive than the current standard one

yes, the rear looks much more refined.

Wonder why there is still tape around the edges of the rear lights at this stage, what is it hiding, the only thing I keep thinking is that the edges of the lights are LED for brake lights

Very much like the silver 2007 models I spotted in Oxford, looks alot better in Silver The exhaust looks alot bigger than the current model!! Apparently the biggest changes will be on the interior so ive heard from a secret source

Are my eyes deceiving me???

Are you guys sure thats the new model? Apart from the front and rear bumpers it looks exactly like the current model.

And I thought MINI were doing away with the bonnet scoop in favour of a bulge in the bonnet for new new turbo?

The scoop is staying, never looked on the cards to lose it. You might be mistaking the "bulge" with the early prototypes which had the current bonnet modified with a big bulge to fit the engine in.

Wheels

Have you noticed that all the 2007 mules are running on 16 inch wheels, suggesting they have again optimised the ride and handling for 16s. I wonder why they have done this when very few Cooper S are ordered with standard 16s.

Although I am a 16 inch fan the new bigger wheelarches mean that they now look a little feeble so I am expect I will order mine with 17 inches - I wonder if the deterioration in ride quality will be as marked, or will the runflat technology have been improved in the new generation so this is less of an issue?

I like it! I'm relieved, I thought it looked terrible at first. Still, we have to wait and see just how large those lights are under the tape. And, we have to see how the turbo works out, and if they really eliminated the lag.

I like the idea of putting the GPS on the speedo, because I don't like having both mounted on the steering column, but perhaps it will look too busy. We'll see.

Looks great, my guess is it'll be a huge success. I'm hoping there will be a sizable increase in gas mileage too.

Don't let some old timers fool you with the usual "current is much better than new one".

New kiddo will ROCK good times

If you think that your 200bhp engine is the reason you are slow...500bhp wont make a difference...

i really don't like it the only things i can see being better looking than the current mini is the side vents which i believe are going to run to where the door opens rather than being surrounded by metal as in the current one. (wonder if we'll be able to retrofit our current minis with new style wings.
doesn't look like they've got aerotwin wiper son it too which is a shame as that'd be the first part i take off the new mini and put on mine

If you mean where the side repeater sits, it's not moving that far back, but it is changing shape and design.
