| Me again | The S looks great but when do we get to see a Cooper? How different will the styling be compared to the S? Are there really gonna be 2 stages of Cooper as suggested? (i.e Cooper and Cooper sport as well as the S?) Whats the stats on the engines in comparison to the new and current S? Do I stick with a Cooper or go for the S? questions questions questions I guess time will tell ![]() |

Offline | We got details etc. for the Cooper (almost all published now), but no photos. No official photos of the Cooper due for a little while (or of the S with the tape off). |

Offline | The Cooper doesn't have a turbo. I guess they just wanted to let us play with the "best" of the range, to get the best reaction, especially from those senior writers who probably spent a lot of time in much larger, more powerful vehicles. |

Offline | It was all talk, never looked like happening. It would make no sense in terms of branding to have two engine versions of the same model in the line, would dilute both the Cooper and S brands that way. Of course, a Diesel One and Cooper would be perfectly possible (and likely). |

Offline | Thre press release has an conversion error. The torque for the Cooper engine is listed as 160nm/188ftlb. I'm assuming that the 160nm is correct, thus it should be 118ftlb. Edit: this error occurs near the top of the article, near the bottom of the article torque was mentioned again, but this time it was converted correctly. |

Offline | To go for the new MC or the MCS that's the hard question at the mo. I've had my Electric Blue Cooper 18 mths now, its fab, I love it except for the numerous rattles. Got my name down for a new one but can't decide which to go for, do I stick with the Cooper and get more mpg or get some fun from the S for £3k extra with options added. I've not driven an S so cannot compare driving experience. Has anyone driven both types? What advice can you give? I love the laser blue colour, but I shouldn't be swayed by just that surely, I can't. Are there any signs of option costs out yet? |
