Does anyone have any news on forthcoming diesel engines, and whether they will be more powerful than the current crop?

Will a diesel be available in Cooper trim?

Nothing official yet, there's plenty on the rumour mill, which indicates a MINI One and MINI Cooper Diesel option, with the D being more powerful than it's petrol counterpart, and the Cooper being slightly less powerful than the petrol alternative.

A Cooper diesel, with say 110bhp, would surely be a huge seller. I would think they'll price it higher than the Cooper petrol though, probably not far off the MCS price-wise

Any idea when we are likely to get official details and will they all launch together in November?

When I saw my dealer on Saturday, he was of the opinion that there would be a second, more powerful diesel available in the line up, but would be available sometime after the 1.4 PSA/Ford unit was launched.

I didn't press him - I wanted him to use his own words - which he did!
