United-Kingdom The New Mini Cooper Options

Hi Guys, i don't own a current Mini however the time-window I'm actually purchasing one will be after the release of the new R56. i got my heart set on a brand new one, not second hand.

i don't have un-ending funds but i want to aim high. i was wondering if BMW plan to keep the current method of the Chili/Pepper packs with some nice additions to the standard spec. is there any indication of whats included or are they gonna be practically the same contents for the same money?

one thing i really need is Air-Con, (i love luxury's!) as well as the half-leather sports seats, think the AC will still be as an optional extra or part of the Chili Pack?

Overall i quite like the new model over the old one apart from a few niggles like the half speedo and the fat back bumper so thats the model ill get i reckon.

Thanks for any help

Welcome to Mini2 Macy.

It is highly likely Air con will be a cost option. £600 ish and £800 ish for climate control and will probably not be part of the Chili Pack. The current cost for the Chili Pack is £1300 i think so you are looking at around £15000 for a Cooper with Air Con and Chili Pack before any nice extras. However I think the Cooper now comes with an Alarm as standard.

Chili pack and the like will still be around, and still probably offer very good value for money.

Hello, after having a look at that german PDF, manual air con comes with both the pepper and the chilli pack, and you can upgrade it to auto aircon.

Be aware, however, that the Pepper and Chili packs for the current model MINI in Germany also include manual aircon - it may well be that it continues to be a separate option for the packs in the UK.

Yes, I think people may be reading too much into options from overseas, the options packs etc. are always different from market to market.

Pepper and Chilli packs DO include man air con (dealers now have a list).

Contents and prices are pretty much as is plus the price of manual air con. Pepper is £940 and Chilli is about £1900.
