Thanks, I've updated your links to the much larger and more complete versions we've had on MINI2 for a while now.

There's also smaller versions in the gallery: http://www.mini2.com/galleries/showg...php/cat/movies

As per the sticky post at the top of the forums.

Glorious videos Paul - thanks for these.

I've only just seen them because I've been in up in Scotland in my MINI... which brings me to...

On first look at the Cooper Design video I just about fell out of my seat because the village in the background, as the Cooper pulls up on the pier, looks like Ullapool in Wester Ross (where my brother lives) and where I've recently been. However on a second look it's not there it's somewhere smaller and I'd guess a lot quieter, Skye perhaps?

The bridge in the Cooper Driving video looks like it might be the 'new' bridge and those could be the Cuilins in the background in some shots but do you have any idea where this was shot? It's certainly a gorgeous backdrop and well chosen and the roads look superb for a MINI adventure.

Anyway, again thanks for posting these

No idea where the Cooper is driving, know where the S is though. But I'd love to know where in the Cooper scenes are shot, as some of the places look amazing.

Yes I'm more convinced it's Skye after doing a Google image search, click here, if you look at the image bottom left it looks very like the bridge in the video. I'll ask my brother to take a look, he knows the area and the mountains there much better than me so may well be able to identify them for definite.

Here's the shocker for me though - my first instinct was actually correct, the pier the Cooper is on in the Design video is in Ullapool!! I'm somewhat flabberghasted and somewhat annoyed that I've missed the filming and am ever so slightly jealous that the place my brother lives in was chosen! The clincher is the shop in the background at the start of the sequence, you can just make out the name which is Ceol Na Mara, the address being 7, Shore St, Ullapool. There's a photo that proves it here!

Beautiful place and I'm lucky enough to have driven MINIs around there (as well as a Morgan) and I can tell you the roads are amazing and the views stunning! I'd guess a lot of the other video is shot closer to Skye though but I'll check with my brother... I'll never hear the end of it though when I tell him!

I'm with you on Ullapool. I also think that the bridge that the Cooper crosses roughly in the middle of the first video is the Kylesku bridge on the A894 about 50km/30mi north of Ullapool (see http://www.arup.com/europe/project.cfm?pageid=136)

Nice one, I think you could be right about the bridge, I hadn't considered Kylesku.

I've asked my brother to take a look at the videos so I should have some more definitive information soon but I'll suggest Kylesku to him and see what he thinks - he knows that area well and was up there a few weeks back IIRC.

My brothers got round to having a look at the video and he confirms that the Cooper Design video is taken in Ullapool.

He says of the Driving video:

"As far as I can see the whole thing is shot between Ullapool and Durness (far North West corner). The bridge is definitely Kylesku and not the Skye bridge. The peaked hill (almost volcano shaped but with a peaked summit) in the background of quite a few shots is Stac Polaidh from the Achiltibuie end. The road going across a thin strip of land between lochs is up on the Durness road but I would have to look at a map to work out exactly where."

So there you have it - nice

Makes note to go on holiday. My father in law always said how beautiful it was "up there", appears he was right.

I suspect it may be a good excuse for a few MINI adventures up that way!

Jeez how did I miss this. How dare they take a video shoot in my area without telling me.

It is indeed Ullapool. which has that lovely Tea Shop and you can have "Tea on the wall" yes sitting on the wall in the background of the Harbour clip.

On the bridge I crossed that many a time and it has a great pub on that road with great food.

ihopefully pick up me new cooper not long after launch date and I'm going to take it up to Ullapoll to exact same spot for some photo's
