Offline | R56 Automatic Ordered - 2 Weeks Ago!! Hi Everyone We’re both new to Mini2.com and also new to the world of owning a Mini so we waited for the new model as we wanted an automatic. We test drove the old CVT Cooper and liked it so we hope the new better engine and gearbox will be worth the wait. The car was ordered two weeks ago so we should get it before Christmas but we have just got around to putting the specification up on the forum. Many thanks to all at Mini2 for all the heads-up information and pictures about the new model; this gave us a great head start to specify and order early. Anyway enough of the boring stuff and down to the details: Mini Cooper Chili Red with Black Roof and Mirror Caps Chili Pack Automatic Gearbox DSC Sports Suspension Sunroof Bonnet Stripes - Black Tinted Rear Windows Automatic Air Conditioning Upgrade Bridge Spoke Wheels Interior Trim – Fluid Silver Visibility Pack White Indicators Bluetooth Telephone Prep Exterior Mirror Pack Front Driving Lights (Dealer Fit) – Hope They Are Available We have e-mailed BMW about a factory tour, hopefully for our build week, but not had anything back yet. We will post some pictures when we get the Mini and let you all know how we get on. |

| Almost There... | This time round both Cooper and Cooper S get the same six-speed Automatic with paddle-shift and Steptronic. Availability on the Cooper is expected from December 2006 onwards, with Cooper S following from March 2007. A Cooper ordered now should be delivered in January, but as always with new models there are no guarantees! ![]() |

| Almost There... | By proving, for once, that dealers aren't always the last to know! We had the full specifications, colours, options lists etc a few weeks ago, albeit in a much less than user-friendly format, so we can now answer most questions relating to the new model with at least some level of accuracy! I'd be very surprised if Paul hasn't received the same information... |

Offline | Scrogg, any news on the auxiliary driving lamps then? Some people here have mentioned that they may no longer be available as a dealer option due to safety regs???? ![]() |

| Almost There... | Like I said, most questions! I have heard something similar, but at the moment details are still being finalised on the dealer-fitted options range, so I'd be reluctant to do anything more than guess right now. Sorry! I very much doubt MINI will be announcing anything, other than the information we already have (which is enough to help customers order their first cars but no more!) before next month, after which it will all be official anyway. |

Offline | Thanks for the replies. Yes, had to wait until December to get the Auto, will be worth the wait as too much sitting in A40 and Headington Roundabout (Oxford) queues does the old left leg in . Don't think the dealer can wait either as we think its the first Auto they have ordered. On the subject of the front driving lights our dealer is sure they will be available and this is backed up by the poster on the recent factory tour photo (See attached). They look nice and not the same as the current ones we have seen at the dealers. Would Mini lie to us? (Tried picture here but haven't done 5 posts yet. So see attached) The only spec disappointment we had was the likely absence of the chrome strips on the bottom of the rear bumper even with the chili pack . The UK New Mini preview site shows them on the zoom in but we, or the dealer, cannot find an option for them:Chrome Line Exterior MINI Cooper - chrome bezel of the lower front grille - front fog light surrounds - rear central fog light surround - 1 x chrome strip on front bumper Also just to say the BMW replied this afternoon about the factory tour. December here we come! ![]() |

| Almost There... | The picture you are showing is the new Cooper S, which comes with black mesh upper and lower grilles, regardless of whether the CHILI Pack is specified or not. NEW MINI shows the two different looks of the two cars, with the full Chrome Line Exterior on the Cooper, which appears to confirm that the chrome strip on the rear bumper has been dropped entirely. |

Offline | Hi Had another look and the rear bumper illustation we were looking at and it was on the Cooper section of the New Mini UK site. (See attached) We think it looks much nicer than the plain one; but we won't be looking at the bumper when driving just the poor mug behind will have too . |

Offline | From the price list: Option 325 - Rear Roof Spoiler Painted In Roof Colour Cooper: £120.00 (or included in Chili Pack 872) Cooper S: Standard Hope this helps but may not be entirely accurate .................. Odd thing was White Indicator Lenses (785) were £50.00 option on the price list for the Cooper but when we ordered them came up £0.00 on the dealers order sheet. ![]() |

Offline | Yes, my order including wil came up as £0.00. I think I'd be better speccing the spoiler as an option then; if it is standard it should come trhough as such in the final invoice (unless there is a "standard" spoiler and an "option" spoiler, Still trying to find a pic of 15" rotator alloys. Offline | You know how it is - late nights - brainstorming - a bit of weed perhaps and lo and behold! we'll call them rotator - it's so bad it's good. I suppose it's marginally better than "sometimes turn around quite fast" alloys or "the locus of a point travelling a fixed distance from a fixed point" alloys - but not much! ![]() R56 AB Cooper |
