Offline | My R56 Cooper Spec Ordered my spec last Friday. Spec's so far! as follows(subject to change ): MINI Cooper, Chilli pack, Chilli Red/White roof and mirror caps, Bonnet stripes, Rooster Red/Black Cloth/Leather Sport seats(part of chiili pack), Rooster Red Lower dash trim, Silver Dash, Bi-Xenon's, Exterior Mirror pack, Visibility pack, 17" Alloy's(don't know which one's yet ). Not sure about Visibility pack,I was ordering everything in it bar the heated screen so put it down on my spec but would like to know what people think of the heated screen in current model? Do you notice the 'lines' in the screen? Even at night? If you wear glasses, are you 'drawn' to the lines? It's only €90 over what I was ordering but want to know if it's good or not. Thanks in advance, Fergal. ![]() It's a MINI Clubman adventure! |

Offline | Hi, Congrats on the new car spec, not that much different to what my Mrs ordered this weekend. You can't see the lines in the heated screen unless you really stare at it. In the winter its great you just hit the button and in a few minutes the ice from the front screen is gone. It was developed by Ford, apparently the key it not being seen is the distance between the wires, not the size of the wires ![]() Paul; |

Offline | I lived with heated screen for quite a while on my old S, and you can see the lines but you "look beyond them". Hard to explain, but they're not really an issue. The only issue sometimes is sort of "heat haze" which is a little strange, or the way they can distort oncoming lights/glare etc. I'm not ordering it, but if you do park outside in the winter the pros FAR outweigh the cons. |

Offline | NIce spec - I will be going for the Rooster Red Colour Line myself if I hadn't decided to shell out for full leather luxury I'm not getting the heated screen because I drove around in a hire car which had it and my eyes kept focusing on the filaments - though I know others don't notice it - not worth it for the 2 frosty days a year you get in London I'm having 17" inch wheel dilemma - white Crown Spoke or silver flame spoke? the Flame Spokes look great in the flesh though I reckon loads of people are going to order them but white wheels are bolder and suprisingly rare - decisions decisions! |

Offline | Fairly definite that I'm not going to go for heated screen, been thinking about it alot for last few days and like you say for the few days of ice etc. I don't think it's worth possibly upsetting the normal driving of the car. They are the same wheel choice dilemma I have except both in silver! I have a set of 16" replica s-spokes at the moment so I'll probably go for Flame spoke's to be different from what I have(had). Best of luck with your new MINI. Fergal. ![]() It's a MINI Clubman adventure! |

Offline | Hi Fergal - Very similar Spec! The heated screen in my dads car is fantastic as we live in the country. You do see the lines in certain conditions but is much better than seeing ice on a cold morning. I've now speced interior trim - fluid silver after some confusion to match the car seen on the website. Good luck with your order also. Last edited by Chris.F : Sep 27th, 2006 at 12:16 PM. Offline | The i-pod link is a dealer fit £180 inc VAT fitted - a bit costly but neat and fits in glove box, works with the multi function wheel. Must be a 5th generation I-Pod to work I've been told. Hope this helps Chris |
