Offline | Whos new to Mini due to R56 ? I've recently joined the site, (don't know anyone else on here in person) because I've ordered a new R56 Cooper. Interested to know who is also a newbie on here because of an interest/purchase of the new model? In my case the mini was my 1st choice for my 1st new car. I'm likely to have the car 5+ years so have opted for the new model with a fairly high spec to my budget, (IMHO) considering the insurance costs in my sums as a young driver - you wouldn't believe some of the quotes I've had! I've chosen Chilli Red/White Roof etc because I've always liked the colour and consider it's become a traditional mini colour that hopefully doesn't date. I've had the Blaster wheels in the Chilli pack with the Ray/leather seats as I can always up the wheels at a later date and even have the seats re-upholstered in the future. But I took the view Xenons are going to be standard in the near future, Auto Air-con - Heated Screen/Tinted glass etc are things I can't easily add in the future. What are other peoples views? (To the regulars on here - thanks for the advice - info - much appreciated and very friendly web community) ![]() |

Offline | Noob Yank here. My recent interest in a MINI just happened naturally and I found myself smack dab in the middle of a model change over! I plan on getting an 08’ JCW. Until then, I'll just be hanging around and collecting as many cool points from y’all as I can! ![]() |

Offline | I lurked here quite a bit when I had a 53-plate MINI One, but only joined up as a result of interest in the R56. (I sold my MINI One after less than four months: Lind of Maidstone would not accept that it was abnormal for a car to get three cracked windscreens - while the car was stationary - in that timespan. I figured I was better off selling the car than dealing with the stress of looking into legal action.) Anyway, the info I found on here convinced me that the R56 was what I was looking for, especially as the seats have been improved over the current model. I should pick up my LaB/W MCS (specced in the MCS Speccin' thread) on launch weekend and it can't come soon enough. ![]() I'll reiterate Chris's point about the regulars on here - they make it a site worth coming back to day in, day out! Fuel for my MINI obsession indeed! Keep up the good work everyone! |

Offline | We're new here and new to the world of Mini too. We always loved the old Mini but didn't have room in our lives for one. All changed now so we waited for the R56. The Chili Red / Black Roof Cooper Automatic will be here late December. We can't wait. The forums and especially the galleries have been fantastic for helping us spec and order the car sight unseen. Congratulations Mini2. |

Offline | My 8 year old Saxo VTS was due to be moved on and one of my daughters bought a new MCC about 12 months ago. I liked her MCC and as the Saxo had to go I put a deposit on an R56 in March this year. That made me join this site and I am glad I did. Speccing would have been a nightmare without all the info on here |

Offline | Also new to min2 due to R56. I also ordered the MCS with chili red/white roof + 17" crown + automatic transmission. Car: No review for the car yet and the schedule production is 15th week of 2007. MINI2 web-site: Frankly, not that helpful in terms of deciding what options to get; however, I found members here on MINI2 more proper and civilized than the other motoring sites. I'm not obsessed with power and speed, thus it is very difficult to communicate with those power-crazed petrol heads. All in all, I visit MINI2 at least couple times everyday now....probably until I receive my MCS. |

Offline | Newbie here and also just got an R56. Coincidence though really as I'm on my 3rd Mini. First one was a red/black model. It was amazing - it had those electric windows that wound themselves down overnight and the doors unlocked themselves ! ! Still loved it and probably still my favourite colour combo. Then went on to a facelift Cooper. The facelift Mini is my favourite. The problems of the original had been ironed out (windows stayed up ! ) and IMO it is the best looking Mini - chrome line exterior is much more discreet etc. This one was in solid gold / black - Not everyone's cup of tea but I'm a Wolves fan ! ! Now on a BRG / white R56. The R56 is the most "grown up" Mini IMO and I'm still a fan |
