What type of person drives a Cooper?

Following on from the 'S' thread on 'What type of driver...." How about a similar thread for the Cooper?

Our Mini, when it arrives, is a silver wedding anniversary present to my wife. It would be rude to tell her age. She's a housewife.
Mini is a great 17th birthday present, you're very lucky.

I'm was 17 on July 25th and currently drive a Mini One and ordered an R56 Cooper in PW with black roof n wheels..... Take delivery on lauch day supposedly.
I chose to run a One for 3 months until the new Cooper is out as I thought in the long term the R56 would be the right choice financially.
I also hope to become an architect, lol, just sent of my ucas with my applications actually just one conditional offer from liverpool yet but its early days lol.
Looks like Cooper drivers and architects go?

I know I made the tongue-in-cheek comment about people who couldn't afford a Coopers S, but I think it'd be a tricky decision for me. I'd love an S for the extra performance but I can't stand that cheap black plastic grill!!! The chrome grill on a Cooper is much nicer.

Simon....Good luck with the applications, I'm not at that point yet but Manchester, Liverpool and Huddersfield look most likely to me. In fact visited Huddersfield on Wednesday impressive & modern. Friendly staff & students at all 3 IMO.

Any more architects (sorry potential!) out there?

Believe it or not my 1st Insurance quote on a Cooper ...FComp with 0 NC and with Tracker Echo & Pass Plus was £18,903 in my own name. Never been in trouble, live in a nice area mum & dad have both better than 11 years NC bonus. Car will be garaged with alarm..........(Confused !!! I certainly was) ............The Endesleigh advert shows a young girl stood in front of a mini and 17-70 but when I rang they said you had to have been driving for 12 months.....so 18-70 surely? Wouldn't even quote...... Several quotes at £8,300 ish.......then into the real World of acceptable figures but still expensive at near to £2000!!!!!!!!!

**** lol 18,903...
What insurance company are you with now then? I'm with Norwich Union on my One and thats just under 2,000. Might be worth shopping around abit to try and knock it down as I expect the Cooper to be a fair bit more. I've noticed some companies will only insure 17 year olds on Mini Ones?
My applications are Liverpool, Bath, Oxford Brookes, Westminster, Birmingham UCE and Wolverhampton.
fingers crossed. Bath is definately worth a visit mate, also oxford brookes although it is superseeded by oxford university in the city it is such a nice place to study and their architecture department is brand new. I was told to expect an offer of A,B,B so i've whacked it down lol.

Popey must be getting paranoid now, this is the second time this week someone has copied his idea for a thread!

(And yes, I know I did it with the other one, so no reminders needed!)

Norwich Union wouldn't even quote me for a Cooper (decline is the phrase!) as per several more high profile companies with big adverts on TV, but my parents Insurers have offered me a (costly) but below the going rate quote near to £2000 which in comparison to the other 30 companies I have tried looks a bargain. (coughs!!!! & splutters!!!!) I want to earn my own NCB as soon as possible but at a price!

Thanks for the advice re courses Bath sounds interesting, will certainly explore further.

I know what you mean, but I just can't quite seem to get my hands on that last Hundred Grand to tip me over the £1,000,000,000,000 mark!

(For all our US viewers, a real billion has 12 noughts, not 9! )
