Offline | Which 16" wheels? I've ordered a Cooper with standard Chilli wheels which are Blasters. I am not sure if I would prefer the 16" BRIDGE SPOKE wheels instead, so please let me know which you think are best. Would it be best to stick to the standard CHILLI wheels for resale purposes? Bridge Spoke ![]() Blaster ![]() Thanks. |

| MINI2 Regular | I reckon 15s with sl wider tyres ( and appropriately lower profile) will be as sweet a combo as you can get on a Cooper, combine that with sp suspension for even less roll and I reckon this setup will burn most 16 and 17 equiped cars on the road but not on track. Guess what setup I've ordered !! |

Offline | I prefer the bridgespokes. I can't help thinking the new alloy wheel choice is not as good as before. It's not that I have anything against the basic design / number of spokes - I just find them fussy with unnecessary detail - I don't like the lip around the outside of the alloy wheel next to the tyre, but I realise I am fussy. |

| YLYP Reclamation Squad | I've always found it strange that MINI continue offering a different 16" alloy as standard on the Cooper S when almost all buyers upgrade to a 17" alternative. How difficult would it actually be to make one wheel standard on both Cooper and Cooper S and then offer the other two as options on both? ![]() I wonder how many Cooper buyers would pick S-Winders? |

Offline | I had 16s on my old Cooper for ride comfort, but the ride is considerably better on 17s on my R56, on motorways I would say the difference is amazing. I think the massive wheelarches mean 17s are a must for looks, but I prefer the Blaster 16 inch wheels which look better in the flesh than they do in pictures. |

| MINI2 Regular | [quote][I would make my choice based on whichever is lower weight./QUOTE] Why bother it's a road car.. The overall spec and total bodyweight will have a greater effect, also runflat tyres are much heavier. You can't choose a Mini and ignore aesthetics to the point that light weight is an issue. So basic Cooper or S with NO extras, yeah or go for Magnesium rims at $ 0000 and full spec ? Not meaning to be rude but I think the current obsession with reducing unsprung weight on a road car is a bit crazy UNLESS you opt for a total stripped out spec Your choice... |
