Hi all, a newbie here!
Just trying to spec my new R56 and I noticed a price increase on the chili pack

. Yesterday on the mini.co.uk website configuator it was £1875

, today its £1995

. It appears the 'storage compartment pack' has been added to the chilli pack. Interesting though that the price of the storage compartment pack as a separate option is £90 but the price of the chili pack has increased by £120

. There is no way I can see of deselecting the storage compartment pack so looks like I'm stuck with it!

Just wondered whether anybody has the storage compartment pack and what you think of it, and what do you think of the price hike!

The Storage Compartment has been postponed for a while so no ones got it yet I think. There was a problem with the supply of the parts so MINI postponed it.

I think the idea was that in March other options and changes take place. (more colours available etc., LSD available on the S) I think you can not actually get a MINI before March now therefore you have to have the upgraded Chili pack which means more expensive.

I'm sure there will be something else upgraded to justify the price hike for the Cooper but I'm afraid I'm not sure what that is.

The price of leather has gone up for BMW - resulting in part of the price rise.

Hi , I ordered my R56 today and got the Chilli pack at the old price - does this mean the
dealer will be looking for more money off me?

Check the small print. If they are a decent dealer, I would expect them to absorb that small price increase.

I see that the "sport button" is now an option at £90.

I haven't had a chance to look at the configurator yet, but I was told by my dealer a couple of weeks ago that cost of a Pepper pack is going up £60 and the cost of a chili pack by £75. Maybe those figures have changed. On my order though, it took off the £90 I was supposed to be charged for the Storage Pack, so in essence, it was £30 cheaper.

Although I've got the Storage Pack, I've been told mid-Feb at the moment, although the dealer's still not sure how much they're going to charge me. I thought the price rises were with effect from 01/03/07.
