Offline | Bet that annoyed you that your dealer forgot the Auto Air Con! You might have well waited to get an 07 plate! Sounds really nice thought. Almost exactly what I'm getting minus the sat nav. Would really love to see some pictures when you get it! I'm so excited about mine. Still got 17 days to go though! AAGH! I love the cream white interior so much! Congratulations! |

Offline | Well, they admitted that they'd made the mistake etc etc and I didn't want to get anyone into trouble so, I just put it down as one of those things. . . Slight problem was that they'd already sold my existing Mini in part-ex so I have been driving around in the Dealer's Brand New Cooper for the past few weeks, which in a way has been quite useful as I've had a chance to find out all about the R56's foibles! Harriet, are you buying your car from Rydale Shrewsbury (I have popped in there a few times as I have a house near Oswestry)? If so, I was impressed with the Lady, Sales person. . . Not so impressed with one of the other guys there mind!!! In the end I went back to my usual dealer in Croydon as Rydale were offering stupid money for mine in part-ex. MM |

Offline | Off the top of my head. . . I'm glad I didn't order the armrest. It makes putting seatbelts on and adjusting lumbar support very difficult. Stereo is HOPELESS (glad I went for hi-fi upgrade). You'd be better with a transistor radio. I didn't go for the cream-line interior and again, I'm glad I didn't. My loan car has it and after just 3,000 miles it looks tatty. It's VERY easy at first to confuse reverse and 1st gear. Engine lacks the throaty note of the previous gen. Boot is still difficult to close but the boot close sensor doesn't activate till you've started driving off! Temp setting on the Auto aircon is a bit fiddly. And despite everything, the plastics do feel, well, plasticky! Up sides though. . . It feels much more grown up and well built than the previous model. Also feels much bigger. Seats are VERY comfortable Grin factor is HUGE Grin factor is HUGE Grin factor is HUGE Grin factor is HUGE. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() MM |

Offline | How can you confuse reverse and 1st In mine you need to shove quite hard to get it over to reverse.I don't remember a throaty note on the previous version. The new engine is excellent, unlike the last one, which was often reported as a weak point in the car. I have manual and even though I was not keen on the controls it is actually fine in use. All plastics are plasticky, but the plasticky plastics in the R56 are less plasticly than any car I can think of other than an Audi. Red/Black R56 Cooper |

Offline | Yes I am actually! The sales guy I am dealing with it ok.. A bit lazy when I was asking him to change spec etc.. but I just kept ringing him and going in til he did! Lol!! Yes Vicky is a nice lady.. Thinking I might deal with her next time... They gave me £7'500 for my 2004 Mini One with aerodynamic kit and Salt pack and 46000 miles on the clock. Don't really know if thats good or bad, but I got them to give me £7'750 in the end, and got the APR down from 12% to 9.3%. So not too bad a deal I don't think.. Went to Chester the other day and thats a huge showroom compared to Rydale. I stood there for quite a while looking at the big black building with MINI on the side... |

Offline | The rubber bumpers may need screwed in a little bit - some of the launch cars needed a good slam to close in the dealers. Not noticed the boot sensor being displayed when the boot is actually closed. Red/Black R56 Cooper |

Offline | Which guy was that? What did he look like? Which desk does he sit at? Was that with this car, or a previous car? As one of the salesmen (the best in the my opinion - and the best looking!! ) has since left... |

Offline | Not on this one. . . Yes, this is a launch car, so that's probably it! Vicky is nice - liked her a lot. The guy who I found to be most objectionable sat at the desk on the left as you walk in through the door. In fact, he is probably the RUDEST car dealer I have ever met! MM |

Offline | ................... .................................. .................................................. . That's who I'm dealing with !!!! ![]() He's ok actually when you get to know him. We've emailed a lot and he is quite funny.... but I know exactly what you mean. He won't budge on anything, sometimes to his detriment...The guy who I brough my last Mini off was John. He used to sit at the desk straight ahead and slightly to the right. He was lovely. Annoying thing is, my dealer tells me he liked me too, but neither of us did anything about it, and now he'd married some rich bird!! Never mind.. |

Offline | He isn't that bad.... honestly. Just a bit lazy!! ![]() But he's been really quite helpful to me and he's lending me his car on 28th instead of a courtesy car so that I can try out the sat nav etc... |

Offline | I'm not! I didn' really flirt with him that was the thing. And he didn't say anything (but my current dealer tells me that he talked about me a lot), but he'd moved to Ford now, and married the daughter of some really well known home building company. Therefore they have a huge house apparently for a fraction of the price! Not fair! ![]() |

Offline | That figures! I wandered in during the summer when Rydale were serviceing my old Mini. Was seriously thinking about buying a Cooper S for my wife, I approached him and asked about the possibility of a test drive, to which he snapped "you'll have to make an appointment"!!! The lovely Vicky overheard this exchange and just couldn't have been more pleasant. Ho hum! 1 day and counting. . . MM |
