Offline | Cooper convert I currently have a R53 MCS and when the car went in for some work got a brand new R56 Cooper. I have had a Cooper R53 a long time ago and loved it and firstly the Cooper felt dull...slow, boring noise etc. a bit to BMW like. However, this is compared to the MCS and after a day or so started to really like it! I like the improved fuel economy, the looks are really growing on me, the quality of build and a lot of the BMW things that have filtered through. It actually is quite quick, you can floor it at any time and not worry about squerming down the road as you do in the MCS. Overall very impressed I must say ![]() However a few things annoyed me: Digital petrol guage - 1 bar was 80 miles, 2 bar 20 miles and random after! Thank god for range! Smaller fuel tank - Why ??? Seatbelt kept getting caught Chimes - very annoying, beeps dont belong in cars Steering - v. good but almost felt a bit light at times Odd cut in quality - seats are no longer half leather, more 1/8th leather! However not picking fault, I still loved it and will get into an R56 someday ![]() Matt ![]() |
