I know its not a terribly good measure of performance but I was wondering if anyone has come across a figure for the R56 coopers 0 - 100 (mph) time? Or perhaps in gear times. Just interested to see how they compare to the previous model. I think that took 29 secs for the 0 - 100 if I'm not mistaken...

This is where the big difference is - very noticeable especially in 5th

R50: Acceleration 80-120 km/h (4th / 5th gear): 10.5 s / 13.5 s
R56: Acceleration 80-120 km/h (4th / 5th / 6th gear): 9.4 s / 12.1 s / 14.3 s

Not really a true comparison as the old Cooper had only 5 gears.

You could look at these figures another way and say that the R50 was substantially quicker 80-120km/h in top gear
