Discount anyone ?

I've heard from people that there is usually no discount on the mini list price. Anyone managed to get a discount on the new mini, or any freebies ?

I know some law firms do tie-ups with their local BMW/MINI dealership - my mate got 5% off his MINI, and that's a huge saving!

If only I'd known before placing my order...grrrrr.

Assuming you're still talking about getting the Cooper D you mentioned in your first post, I doubt it very much, as this is a whole new model to the MINI range, and one that is already proving to be in great demand.

Saying that, unless you ask you won't get, so go for it. Just don't devote too much of your life traipsing round dealerships expecting to get anything more than a gesture (free TLC etc) on a model that hasn't actually been launched.

The one area you should look at though is the value of your Celica, as trade-in values vary greatly from one dealer to the next.

And as supersaw has just said, the movement on dealer-fitted accessories is much greater, so it really pays to shop around on those!

there is no discount as dealers say
before buying my MC, i saw 4 different dealers to have a rebate
2 told me "you are kidding sir, there is no discount for minis, they are easy too sell"
1 told me 3%
and one 4, then 5 and finally i had 5.80% (he didnt want 6%)

nice discount anyway
i found a dealer ready to make 6% as i m a member of the french medical car club (ACMF in france) but the garage was too far from my home/work place, so i prefered to go for the 5.8% rebate

Hi Kand
We were offered £2000 more for our trade in 06 cooper convertible at Wellsway bmw Bath and the few little discounts/perks,Lovetts wouldn't budge an inch on discount or trade in values, hence they didn't get the order.

Best of luck Stuart

Well said oh wise one

Also worth negotiating on the finance too, there are different packages and be aware of what APR you could get elsewhere, I got mine down from 9% to 7.3% on my car I pick up in a few weeks, but I know that on a brand new MINI you can get them down to 6.3% APR on a HP finance deal

Its only a forum you know!

Red face Good Trade In

The dealers would not budge on new car price but did give us really good trade in price. Mind you we found out why as three days later they sold it on as they already had a buyer for it seems like there is a shortage of S/H pepper white / Black cars.

No discount on MINI, but I got £500 more for my 307 trade in, got a set of pinstripe mats (front and rear) and my £80 number plate transfer fee paid for and 1/2 tank of BP Unltimate. So not bad.
