Offline | Sport button query Anyone out there specced their cooper with the Sport button? I understand it is available as an option for the model. If so, can those who have a R56 cooper WITH a sport button confirm it weighs up and makes the steering more direct as well as make the throttle more response - like it does on the CooperS. My sis is about to order a cooper with sport button and we want to make sure it alters the steering and throttle like it does on a R56 MCS, which I am fortunate to own. feedback on the sport button option would be greatly appreciated. ![]() |

Offline | Hi, I've just specced the sport button on my Cooper R56 and I am of the understanding that it does and weight to the steering and makes the throttle more responsive! I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong! Hope this helps! |

Offline | Hi there Yup, I can confirm that too. Saw your post earlier and tried it on my new MC auto on my way home. It adds fun & folics to the throttle response, heavies up the steering nicely, and pops the auto box into DS mode so gears rev higher before changing. Well worth the 90 quid, IMHO! Have fun! |

Offline | Not saying do not get it but, does anyone think the steering is not weighty enough without the sport button? I certainly think the steering on mine is pretty hefty compared with a lot of other power assisted cars. Red/Black R56 Cooper |

Offline | hi Ken, IMO, the standard setting is overly light - okay in town making it easy to drive, and it does weigh up nicely at speed, granted. But i much prefer the Sport button activated steering feel - much more meatier and gives me better feel around fast bends on the B roads. Each to their own. ![]() |

![]() Taller Than You! | I spec'd the sport button on my cooper and I am extremely glad I did. The steering with it off is far too light for my tastes for spirited b-road driving, but its great with the button off for parking in car parks etc. My mk1 S's steering was so heavy by comparison. |

Offline | I may well have specced it but it was not available on the Cooper when I got mine. I do not find the steering too light at the moment though, but then I can't compare it to one with the sport button. Red/Black R56 Cooper |
