Offline | I feel so sorry for you!! I know I'd be gutted if that happened to my new MINI. I take it you're alright? I hope you'll be able to claim on their insurance! I know you'll be upset but try to console yourself by knowing there are worse things that happen. Keep smiling!! |

Offline | Bit of a sore neck and my 11 year old daughter was very shaken, bless her but we're ok - thank heavens! Direct Line insisted on the car going to one of their 'approved body shops', hope they're ok! |

Offline | I think you have the right to choose the repairer but Direct Line give a Guarantee on the work done i would take someone with you when you collect it to give it a close look to make sure all 100% Hope you are both ok and your mini adventure returns to normal soon |

| Syd | Sorry to hear this. Glad you and daughter OK. I would be under arrest by now. Did you think about MINI Accident Management?, they were excellent when a w**ker in an Escort van crunched my partner's Park Lane. Hope you are soon sorted. PS daughters, kids, are very special indeed, mine walked away from what she did to hers: http://www.mini2.com/forum/attachmen...d=1177104 570 UNLESS YOU LIVE LIFE ON THE EDGE, YOU ARE TAKING UP TOO MUCH SPACE |

Offline | Thanks for the kind words mate. As I understood it though, Mini have since stopped the Accident Management thingy, but I'm happy to stand corrected. ![]() Cheers, MM |

| Syd | The original number - on the back of the tax disk holder, worked 10 months ago, on my daughter's disaster (that was with Mondial). That didn't work for my partner's car - was still driveable and it was dealt with, very well, by Accident Exchange Limited 08700 118720. They got it into a MINI approved body shop and had the whole bill out of the third party's hide. We didn't even have an excess to find and though we informed our insurers for the record, they had nothing to do with it. Highly recommended. Put it touch by our dealer. Good luck. Offline | I'd put your foot down and insist on your own choice tbh, had a bad experience with a direct line body shop - it turned out to be a ford body shop and ruined a set of alloys after they *cleaned* them... I'm glad to hear all passengers are safe I hope you're back on the road soon I think the MINI accident thingy is now down to your dealer, try giving them a buzz first ![]() |

| MINI2 Regular | You must be so gutted. I had a similar incident with my previous Cooper 12months ago when I was rear ended. My insurance wanted it to go to their approved repairer but 24hours later and the insurance company of the negligent driver was on the phone wanting to sort it out thenselves without my insurance being involved. They asked me where I wanted my car to go so it went to the MINI dealership, the 3rd party insurance provided the hire car and I got a satisfactory injury payment too. It may be worth bearing this in mind as the other party was to blame their insurance might offer the same ? Anyway, I hope it is fixed to a high standard soon and that you and your daughter are soon enjoying MINI motoring again. Take care ![]() |

| Trained Monkey | Quick bit of advice, in the insurance forum you will find information that YOU are entitled to chose the repair centre. Remember that if it needs a respray and it's NOT a BMW approved bodyshop your paint/corrosion warranty will be affected. They may not offer a courtesy car if you chose a different body shop, but you do not have to accept their approved repair shops if you have reason not to. |
