I shall be driving through France, Switzerland and Italy in my 07 Cooper next month and want to take with me a replacement bulb set "just in case". Although local dealer, Cotswold MINI, can supply a bulb set for a first generation Cooper, I have been told today that the bulbs will not fit a second generation Cooper because the fixings are different. The best Cotswold can do is supply individual brake, indicator and side light bulbs at a total cost of around £34 (with discount!) for 4 bulbs! Having been quoted £12.75 for a first generation MINI spare bulb set, I reckon that the cost for the latest individual light units is exorbitant. Does anyone have any suggestions apart from gritting one's teeth and adding further to the profits of BMW?

Buy first generation set for £12.75, if you got stopped over there be very unlikely they would check each bulb to see if they worked or not.
Just wondering what diff in bulb types?

Try this link may help with bulb choice, also i had little plastic box from diy shop with different compartments and put in foam cotton wool would do as could not get kit so worked out at £14 i think. Indicator PY21W on my MCS R56
