Offline | 50.2 Mpg! Took the Mini out again today - have done about 140 miles now and Mini is telling me that the average MPG is now 50.2!!!!! Crikey - if that's true I'm definately going to notice the difference from my old Cooper. Of course, I'm not excatly giving it much revs etc. 2 'blobs' have gone on the fuel gauge. Taking her on the daily commute for the first time tomorrow. |

Offline | Well I'm driving it very gently at the moment so I don't suppose it will get any better than this! Very impressed though - shows what car manufacturers can do when they make an effort! I was always after another gear in my old Cooper - this is definately better. |

![]() Dooper is the dogz! | I have always had at least 45pmg from my Dooper, right from picking it up with only 0.6 mile on the clock! At the mo it is averaging about 48-9mpg, although I am trying to tip the 50 barrier Most of my mileage (nearly 9k since the end of May! :-O) is on the momtorways tho... ![]() |

| Not a happy bunny. | too right... why care about petrol consumption ? as long as it's above the 22 my previous car used to do, i'm saving money. plus i do a lot of short stop/start journeys, so my average is kinda screwed. i reset it before driving back from my dad's place and got 47 :] i'm not hung up on the MPG - i drive the car to have fun, not to save money ! |

Its quite hard to do in the cooper! I drove about 10 miles along a b-road and got 21 mpg Couldnt get it any lower! |

Offline | Hi All Just joined this site recently and pick up a previously enjoyed Cooper S next week. It,s covered 15k from new and is 3 yrs old but there is one thing that I'm not sure about and trying to find an answer. The steering wheel hums when turned, i'm told this is normal and it's to do with the electric power steering. can anyone out there reassure me? Ta |

| MINI2 Regular | We did over 5000 Km this summer during our trip to Mini Meet 2007 in Tennesse and based on a 4.54L ( Gallon ) we hit over 50 a few times. We were travelling with a friend pulling a traller so we stopped about every 3 hours for them to get fuel and we would also fill up. Liquid Yellow Cooper |

Offline | Hi Sting ,If you are refering to when the car is going slowly or stationary when you here the noise then it is more than likely the powered steering and is normal...I used to like the sound personally and when you turn off the ignition it almost sounds like you've landed as the noise subsides ![]() If it's when you are driving normally i would consult your dealer. ![]() |
