My Mc is Cracking Up

I have had my R56 Cooper since October and I have my first problem.
There is a small crack which has appeared on the top of the windscreen where the rear view mirror is.
I have yet to contact my insurance company but I think this is the best way to go.
I wonder if it is a ne mini fault or maybe just the awful weather we have had lately and the fact I travel the motorway everyday.
Hopefully get her sorted soon

With the first generation new MINI there were a few cases of cracking windscreens due to stress exerted on the glass from the car's structure. But I have not heard of this on the R56? Are there any obvious stone chips? - MINI's are much more prone to chips because of their low height and upright screen.

Funny, I have phoned my insurance company today as I have a crack at the top of my windscreen. THink mine was caused by a stone chip though. Absolutely gutted as the car is only 4 weeks old

My girl is being fixed as we speak. Someone else mentioned the top of the screens somethimes cracking due to fitment. But I really think this was due to a chip, the weather has been terrible and I often travel past lorries which throw up all the grit.
Nevermind new screen treat for her today
