Velvet Cooper Letter To Mini Customer Service

Hi Guys,
I would like your opinions on the letter I am going to send to MIni Customer Service Department. If you have read my posting titled 'without cooper for up to 4 days' you will understand why I am writing to them. Please let me know what you thoughts are and if you feel I should add or take anything out.
Thanks Guys.
pete

MINI Customer Services are good at dealing with stuff like this

I also wrote to them about the issues with my car, and they backed up the dealer in locating the fault and getting it sorted, also they were (if my car was off road any longer) going to get me a loan car sorted out if the dealership couldnt. It didnt come to that but I found that they were very good with everything.

The guy phoned me a few days after I got my car back to check it was ok, so it was then I mentioned about some sort of compensation for the hassle i'd had, but was told to not expect anything. A few hours later I received a call again and was told they would be giving me £200 credit at the dealership to spend on what I wanted

Its always worth a letter, even to just let them know your not happy!

Good luck getting your car sorted

Sorry if this sounds harsh, but I'm only trying to help....

Posting your full name, address and mobile number was not a good idea! The fact they are within a Word document attachment probably helps. Hopefully there isn't anyone on the forum who would missue your details, but posting info like this to the internet is silly... Just think, if you'd posted them directly to the thread Google could index them....

"Renault Megane and in the two years I own it" you should have used 'owned'.

The sentence starting "This is first car I have had from the BMW group" doesn't make sense.

I was always told you shouldn't start sentences with 'but'.

I wouldn't mention compensation at this point. I would explain what's happened and what your concerns are. BMW do give gestures of goodwill so may give you something anyway. If they don't I'd mention it after getting the work done.

The trim being damaged isn't an issue, should they damage anything they will (should anway!) replace it.

The car being off the road for 4 days isn't really an issue, you'll be given a loan car should you need it. If they can't organise that in time then you've got something to complain about.

Sure its a shame the part is on back order, but it only effects your iPod, hardly the end of the world and maybe you can use the aux input until it arrives? The car is still perfectly usable.

I'm not saying you shouldn't complain, I think you should, but just consider that things could be a lot worse! Sure it's dissapointing that your new car has a fault, but components do fail and your problem should be fixed easily. The only thing I'd be concerned about at this point is dash rattles afterwards, but plenty of Minis suffer rattles anyway without the dash being taken out...

Just think, things could be a worse! My MCS has suffered the cold start rattle and a few interior rattles, it was also delayed a month due to faulty fuel pump before I took delivery of the car. It's been off the road around 7 weeks for the engine rattle. Others have suffered worse. Each time I've emailed Mini customer services and been pleased with the outcome.

PS You got lucky with the Renault. I had a Clio 172 and whilst it didn't spend much time at the dealers bits continually fell off and switches failed etc...

Hi Guys, thanks for your input I have changed to wording on it, and taken the bit about compensation off it.
Kevkbuk, sorry to hear you had so much trouble with yours, And your Clio 172, had lots of Renault and had no trouble with them, I changed to a VW Polo one year and it broke down on me. Never had that with a Renault.
I think the worst part of this is I am more worried that I am going to have to keep going back to them to sort out rattles from the dash, as I sure it will have some. I am really hoping there isn't and it all goes back as it should.
Still love the car, done 400 miles in it now. I had a diesel Clubman as a loan car and was very impressed with the engine.
Thanks again guys for your input I will see what happens and keep you updated.
cheers cbpete
