Offline | Sport Suspension pros and cons HELP!!! HELP!!! Hi everyone, I have read the other threads on this topic, but it's still inconclusive. I have just ordered my MCS, but not sure whether I should take sports suspension(SS) or not. I know the ride will be harder with SS, but are there any other cons, and what are the pros? Will the car sit lower with SS???? Has anyone driven both to compare them? Is there a big difference in the hardness of the ride? questions questions!!! Cheers, Mark ![]() |

![]() Obsessive Car Cleaner OCC | Ive had a MC with SS+ and now an MCS with SS they both feel great and the handling is great! so i say the pro's is that you will have better handling and the con's is you will have a stiffer ride but i didnt think that the stiffer suspension was a problem in my mind! depends on what you want! harder sus with better handling or softer sus with a comfortable ride and less handling! id go for the SS personaly! |

Offline | No cons, unless you consider a firmer (but certainly not jarring) ride a downside in a small sports hatchback. Welcome to MINI2. ![]() There aint no party like my nana's tea party |

Offline | The best way to decide which you prefer is to test drive a car with and without the sports suspension - none of the debates here can really give you the answer as its really all down to personal choice ![]() |

Offline | The SS does not lower the car...is the same ride height, but a bit firmer. I had a test drive with a Cooper with 15'' wheels and normal supsension and with a Cooper S with SS but 16'' (not 17''). The difference in comfort was not that great (of course the Cooper was more comfortable, but that does not mean that the S was uncomofortable!), but the handing was quite better in the SS. I have ordered mine with 17'' and SS and I am not sure if it will be too stiff or not. I will know around April, when I get the car. However, I think that probably the best combo is SS with 16'' and not normal Suspension with 17''. |
